However you want!!
My first son (now 2 1/2) had a star theme and we are going to use it again for baby boy number 2, who's due in February. We purchased it from Pottery Barn Kids and I am VERY impressed w/ the quality. After all of the washes that the sheets & blankets have been through, they still look brand new!

Our boy had trains as an infant. We have railroad crossing signs and pictures of trains on the wall. (can be found easily on eBay)
As he has gotten older, we have added some trucks, cars, and race tracks to the decor. He has a race car bed which is a lot of fun for him! Plus, many different rugs with towns, roads, and train tracks can be used in the room and for him to play on. There are LOTS of possibilities with this theme!
A great product to use for wall decor and borders are wallies. You can get them for ANY theme, and they are very easy to use. Just wet them and slap them on the wall! When your son gets older or just wants to change the room, re-wet them and they come off. (they don't come off as easy as they go on, but they do come off!)

Depends on what you want to be seeing for the next- however long before you change it again. I did my childrens room in farm animals. I didn't want to do just Pooh or something like that because I didn't want EVERYONE to get the kids Pooh stuff only at the baby shower and I figured it was something that they could grow with for a little while anyway.

I think your are best off just doing a wall or two or half way up with a fun color. Then accessorize as you want.
Even if you dont buy from there, go to websites like
pb kids, land of nod, company store kids, garnett hill kids, to get ideas.
Also another great source of ideas is wallpaper books. You can check them out from Home Depot, Lowes, etc. Dont buy the wallpaper, just get ideas.

Sports are always good! It's a theme that will grow with him. You can use some of the same decorations when he gets older!

I did my boys room in a theme called splish splash, all frogs ducks and turtles it came out so cute! I originally wanted to do it in my favorite childhood cartoon, (Smurfs) But it was so hard to find smurf decor LOL! I say you do it in Snoopy that was my 2nd after Smurfs but my mom went and got the splish splash before I could decide. They have Nite nite snoopy, Sports snoopy....pretty much every snoopy you can think of. Look on Walmart.com at their nursery in a bag!

Well something with a basic color scheme ( red, blue, yellow, green, etc.) or something along a traditional "boy " theme. We picked bandanna cowboy, and my friend did hers in a jungle theme. Really its what ever strikes you as fantastic, and hopefully will last into early childhood. Hope that helps.

We did a salior theme. Our crib is black and the decor is white and blue with little sail boats. I saw it at babies-r-us and fell in love with it!
