What you should do is grow up, instead of complaining about your stepmother all over YA (three questions in one hour).

When you've had cancer, then you can perhaps make judgments about the way other cancer patients deal with it,

I don't know if you are heartless - but you don't like your step-mother and that is certainly affecting how you view her situation.

Your mother sounds like a tough lady, she never complained. Well OK, that is the approach some people take. Your step-mother doesn't have the same approach. Unless she's asking you for your help (which I certainly hope is not the case) butt out and go help your mother.

I agree that the loss of a breast is less severe than the loss of a lung. But it isn't quite like trimming a hangnail either. I don't know if your step mom is "acting" or not. I can say with authority that pains come and go with cancer and the treatments for it. There were times when I literally could not stand when a few hours before I had been gardening.

I do hope that you never have to endure this "joke".

Breast cancer like a joke. Huh. It will be interesting to see how many people post who have lost someone to breast cancer.

Although it was pretty darn funny when I was 8 months pregnant when I was diagnosed with breast cancer, and wow, the laughs rolled in when at 29 years old my hair all fell out due to chemo. And the bleeding from the radiation?!? What a side splitter! How about the 6 and a half hour surgery to try and put me back together? Man, now THAT was a blast.
Although a close second was a year long IV treatment that I had every week.

If you have a problem with your step mom, deal with it, don't bring cancer into the middle of it. Next time stop and think before you hit that button to post you question.

Sheesh.

If you have any heart at all, you would care about your horrible step mother. Cancer is evil. No one deserves that. Maybe the stepmom is more of a wuss, but give her a break.
Best wishes to you AND your two Moms.

Yes you are heartless and should be ashamed of yourself for even posting such a heartless thing.

I wouldn't wish cancer on my worst enemy. Yes, you should care! She is your Dad's wife and he loves her. You wouldn't want him to loose the woman he loves would you?
