Dont take alternative medicines dont listen to quacks and friends who say oh its nothing. Imediately go to a doctor and ask for help. Youll need a mammogram and more then likely a medical procedure fo some type. But first and foremost go to a doctor and get checked out. it is possible that the lump may be nothing more then an infected cyst or similar, And I hope and pray thats all it is for you. But should it turn out to be more serious then a doctor can hep you. Especially with a family history of the illness. Be with family and friends as well should the worst case scenario come to pass. It is always helpful to have people close to help deal with the bad stuff. I wish you the best of luck and my thoughts will be with you.

I used to get that when I was your age!
It could be a deep pimple. I know it is an odd place to have a pimple, but we all sweat there and under-arm deoderant can cause the pores to get blocked from time to time.
Another non-serious explanation could be an ingrown hair. Check to see if the skin is red or inflammed around the lump.
If it does not go away and does not appear to be an ingrown or a pimple then perhaps you should see your Doc.

I had one of those and yes they are very painful. It is probably a cyst caused by shaving and build up of deodarants. I would reccommend you seeing your Doctor just in case it is something more serious like a lymph node or something. If it is a cyst, and again it probably is, be careful what type of deoderant you use, your Doctor will probably reccommend this also, use a simple deodarant, not an antipersparant/deodarant. Also warm compresses help to relieve the pain and swelling as well.

You should consult your GP. That sort of lump usually indicates swollen lymph glands, they are your body's defense system, which generally means that your body is fighting an infection. Do you have other symptoms? Headache, running nose, fever, etc? See your doctor to find out if you need antibiotics.
Take care.

I would say it is either a swollen lymph node or an infected hair follicle... sometimes when we are run down we get lumps and bumps but i would say that it will probably be the ingrowing hair follicle.. But do get it checked though by a doctor ... take care!

See your GP anyway. At a guess it's likely to be a swollen gland or a cyst, neither of which is deadly so don't panic. You could always call NHS Direct and speak to a trained medic, they will ask all the relevant questions and probably put you at ease.

Sounds like an abscess.
Probably a hair follicle has become infected and this is the result.
They are very painful and you will need to go to your doctor for an anti biotic. It may also need to be lanced which will certainly relieve the pain

It sounds like one of your glands are swollen or possibly one of your lymph nodes which most likely indicates an infection. Definitely consult your family doctor.
