Childhood memories of a time when life was simple, family gatherings, the smell of the tree, and most importantly, laying under the tree and looking up at the branches filled with lights and ornaments.
Christmas is a tradition and for just that one night (Christmas Eve) I feel like a child again.

Some parts of it are fun. I like the ideas of holidays in general, as a time to celebrate life and spend time with friends and family. And Christmas can be great for that.
I will be celebrating the solstice this year, but I will still celebrate Christmas too, sending presents to my family and wishing people a merry Christmas. My family and friends know I am not Christian, and they respect that just as I respect their choices.
Oh, Christmas songs are fun, too. I love "White Christmas". :)

I like the day, spent with my kids and extended family.
I love the ritual of watching my kids look at all the presents excitedly and waiting to open them.
I love the lights on the houses.
I love the smell of the pagan Christmas tree.
I love the fact that my dad uses it as an excuse to read at length from the Bible. It really doesn't bother me, and I still enjoy it, even though I know it is a bunch of bullocks.
Tradition is fine, as long as it isn't used to hurt other people.

Sitting next to my witty mother during Christmas dinner. A close second is the Yorkshire pudding my brother in law so artfully cooks.

Its just fun - a lot of Christmas has to do with Santa and Reindeer - seems more fiction than religious to me.
Jesus is as much of a character of Christmas as Santa

I hate winter. I love the festiveness of Christmas--it gives me something to be happy about in the midst of the dark and cold.
Too bad it's over right when winter's just starting. The rest of the season is always bleak and drab.

I like it, I guess. I like that people are generally nicer to each other (at least in my family) and that its a good excuse to give people gifts. There's a lot about that I can't stand, too... the crowds, the traffic, the Ohio weather that time of year... honestly the bad and good cancel out each other and I'm really apathetic. lol

I like sex with 42 partners under a giant thorny tree with satanic fairies draped nakedly all over it. After that I like to gorge on roast babies and drink so much alcohol that I beat my family into a pulp. Then I like a game of Jenga and some brandy butter with pud. Then I drive my car into old people before setting fire to all the christmas trees in the shopping mall.

I like the time off, hate the irritating commercialism and the moronic preaching by religionists who seem to think christmas has anything to do with jesus when in fact its a pagan festival
