If you want to LOSE weight, you have to take in less calories then you burn.....

So in your case, to be "healthy", you better be using LESS THAN 1000 calories a day to maintain your weight.

5'6" and 115 pounds is slim. If you've noticed yourself losing weight, then yes, there is problem. If your weight has been maintained for several months, then I'd say you're good.

Good luck

Your friends are not confused, you need to have more than 1000 calories and your friends are right to be concerned about you. You say you usually eat between 500 and 1000 calories a day? 1000 calories is not enough, and 500 is way too low. You need to eat at least 1200 calories a day. Just make sure you are eating a healthy well balanced diet. You should probably take a multivitamin and a calcium supplement too.

no that is unhealthy. you need to gain some weight. you should be eating at least 1200-1400 calories. especially if you are on your feet for 6-8 hours moving around, your still burning calories. your body needs the metabolism to keep going. just make sure what you eat is healthy, get some carbs and protein in your diet.

but go for 1200 to 1500 a day, but 500 is very unhealthy

u need to eat inleast 1200 calories a day for one reason..u need ur ddaily amount of vitiames.....500 calories a day is not going to give you your daily need of vitamins...What if you get sick??? your immune sstem will not be able to fight it off and it might turn inot something severe...especially with this cold weather coming around...you should really start to eat more healthy

it is unhealthy. IT is not beneficial to your health to eat under 1200. that means you need 1200 calories or MORE.

you mean besides the fact that your body will go into starvation mode, so that in the end you lose more muscle than fat?
