I received the following email from a self-styled "minister" who is truly a hater and even declares that it is God's purpose.

" Message: My responsibility in the W_______ church was to go into a church that had been voted closed by the district and be their last chance for revival. I was able to revive 4 out of 5. One had to close. The first thing I did was rid the churches of false doctrine. You use the word hate with impunity, but there is no hatred in keeping the church pure. Christ did not die that His church would ordain gays."

My response to him was that Christ loved all men, never hated anyone, and encouraged brotherly love.

I don't know wat to tell you I've heard of some of them talking bout hating paople and not doing wat they are supposed to watch is not hating people and loving and caring for them. That's wat god wants everybody to do but some of use don't do it and that's the bad part about people these days everyone wants to fit and hate and call names but they never want to love.

I agree with you, Christ came and he accepted and Loved everyone. And he told everyone to Love each other, and even to Love their enemies. I don't get how anyone can draw hate from that message.

Also: If you can say, "Christ did not die that His church would ordain gays"
then you can also say: "Christ did not die that His church would ordain liars and the dishonest"
and: "Christ did not die that His church would ordain drunkards and thieves"

I must say though, that the minister of the church should have his sins straight with God before he becomes a minister. why? because the minister or pastor of a church is supposed to lead and shepherd the congregation. If the minister cannot even make his sin right with God, then how fit is he to help others make their sin right with God?

now once they have resolved thier sin with Christ, I'm fine with them becoming ministers. If a thief or a murderer repented, and stopped their sin in that respect, and turned out to be a great pastor, I would definitely like to have them as my pastor. Remember: Paul. He used to be named Saul before he was converted, and he murdered Christians. Then he was converted, and he repented, and became one of the greatest Christians we know of.

Actually Christ spoke of the condemnation of the sexual immoral. For example consider what he said in Revelation " I have this against you: You tolerate that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess. By her teaching she misleads my servants into sexual immorality and the eating of food sacrificed to idols. I have given her time to repent of her immorality, but she is unwilling. So I will cast her on a bed of suffering, and I will make those who commit adultery with her suffer intensely, unless they repent of her ways. I will strike her children dead. Then all the churches will know that I am he who searches hearts and minds, and I will repay each of you according to your deeds."

Is that pretty much the "Jesus" you believe in? Or is it that you believe in the different "Jesus"?

Good for him. We need more Christian minister who stand up for what is morally right. No type of sin, whether sexual, monetary, predatory, abusive, etc. should be tolerated in the church. Number one complaint people have is that the church is full of sinners and hypocrites. But if you get in a minister who wants to straighten them out and end the sin and hypocrisy, then they are "intolerant" and "hateful".

Which way do you want it people?

Hardly shocking. Not sure of the amount of experience you've had with Evangelical Conservative Christianity, but it all tends to go that way. Some may try to word it lightly, but they all have the same end in mind, a world full of people that all believe exactly what they do. I shudder to think what that world would look like, and hope that many of the good Christian people who get involved with the belief system will realize its blatant intolerance. Thankfully, we have people like John Shelby Spong attempting to reform this trend in Christianity.

Maybe 'christ' did,but the God of Israel, our creator, remember HIM?,did not love everyone and told us to be with folks of the opposite sex only, not same.He loved Israel, made Israel to be HIS chosen and all who clinged to HIS name(Yahweh)and all who lived in HIS ways and obeyed HIS commandments laws etc..Now those of this world who want to do whatever they heart desire and dont want to obey the God of Israel for whatever reason, will say things of that nature..HE does love all..who love HIM..HE doesnt hate anyone..who obeys HIM and HIS ways..But if ur not like that, then, truth hurts..Our creator is a loving God,but he will fight, and many dont like to hear that, read up on ya OT,youll find out the truth about the creator u say ur serving..Shalom
