Oh, the irony! Suddenly some aren't so "Christiany". (That should really be word)

Added: What? People really think the rainbow is a sign from god that he'll never flood the earth again? You people really need to have paid better attention in school!

God won't be in a position to. He made a covenant after the great Flood promising he'd in no way flood the Earth lower back. that's what the rainbow symbolized, covenant and forgiveness. The Bible says the international shall pass by potential of hearth this time. And with all the hatred and mayhem, that hearth could have already started out.

God flooded the world because the world was consumed with hatred and sinfulness. There was only a handful of people that still worshipped Him. The world was consumed with evil, and God purged it of this. However, he gave them ample oppurtunity (40 yrs.) to believe in Him and save themselves from the flood.
I was not so much because they exercised their freewill in an unpleasing way, although that is true that they did. The majority of people here on earth today are acting in a way that God doesn't approve of. He allowed them the chance to exercise it in the right way and believe in Him and be saved.
Also, remember that this catastrophic event changed the face of our planet and prepared it for the future to come, which we are living in right now. The rainbow, well, the Bible doesn't actually say the rainbow was the sign. When Noah came off the boat, and the sun shone through the clouds, Noah would've seen things he'd never seen before. Clouds, sky piercing mountaintops, and even the substance of the air itself was different. Noah saw the rainbow, also something new, and God said look at the world around you, this is a sign to you that the world will never be flooded again.

God flooded the world because Noah was the only decent man that remained.

Afterwards, God realized that this wasn't the best way to go about it, so he sent a rainbow as a sign that God would never destroy the earth with a flood again.

Eventually, God discovered that humans would never truly be sinless, so he sent Jesus to suffer & die so that humanity might be saved.

In essence, you could say there was an "evolution" to how God related to God's people between the stories of Noah and Jesus. That's why the Old Testament is such an interesting set of books!

hmm why would god flood the earth when all living things were created in his image. even if it his image became evil it still wouldnt make since cuz if someone was to make something so important to them they would stop it nothing to change it without harm. so how do we know that God flooded the earth? No the flood still happened never the less to much proof has been otherwise proven, so why is it it happened we all have to stop blaming god and search for the real reason as to why it happened instead of looking to find someone to accuse but to find out the truth in the matter. all of this stuff i have read on here makes about as much since as "aliens flooding the earth to wipe out the human race and God warned them but only a handful believed enough to do anything about it therefore building the ark, and if that is the case how do we know that they still arent hear and arent controling the water now?" Nonesince needs to be left behind and to the truth should step forward. God loves us even though we blame him for all the smallest and largest of things... tell me can you love someone that much? i can

Humans were becoming worthless as they are today that is exactly why the end is for a fact drawing very, very near. Self-centered, selfish greedy zombies. God created this plane of existence as a training site or boot camp to prepare ourselves to be around a being so powerful He can scatter your atoms across the universe without even lifting a finger and living in His Holy Dwelling without pissing Him off.
However the way it is turning out it is unfit for the intended use so why in the hell would He want it to continue? Contrary to popular belief it is not for he who dies with the most toys childish thinking crap. Or he who steals the most. Well in a nutshell there you have it.

God flooded the world because he was evil and vindictive

God did not flood the world, because humans were selfish and unkind towards each other, the world being full of evil, etc etc. God didn't say "Oh, I'll teach those humans a lesson or two, and I'll flood the world - to kill them all, except for a few I'll keep because they were good, etc etc."
A flood happens because of cosmic events - whether it be a meteor striking the Earth melting ice caps (because the history of the Earth shows such collisions occur irregularly) or global warming, etc etc.

God flooding the world, is religion explaining their importance, in telling us why such events occur - because it is their version, and they gain power and control with such storytelling...

The scriputre says that the sons of god were fornicating with the women of earth. Now whether this mean angels or christian im not so sure that it really matters in the end. BUt the world was so full of evil that the LORD washed it away and started over with noah. Thus the covenent with noah and the rainbow as a symbol to never flood the eart again.

Flood? Sorry, I've been on vacation for a few days. I never read newspapers or listen to the news when I'm chilling out.
