In this question, there is no difference between North Korea and South Korea... it is just Korea.

The northern Koreans were getting their butts kicked by UN troops, until China joined them, which tipped the balance for quite a while. There were 22 UN nations involved in this conflict.
I was fortunate to attend the 50th anniversary commemoration in Seoul in 2003. The ROK is still very appreciative of what was done.

China, the chinese soldiers were called 'Chicoms' ((Short for Chinese Communists)). The chinese had an established reputation for massed suicide charges that made the Japanese Banzai charges look like shopping at Macys.
Groups of them numbering in the thousands would come in, wave after wave, using the theory that if they hit the defences enough times with enough wave, the defences would collapse (like oceans waves knocking down a sand-castle).
Korean war vets have told me stories of coming out of their foxholes after an attack, and being surrounded by dead chinese soldiers layered 4 and 5 deep, for 100 yards or more around.

Chinese Infantry and Armor. If you count AAA shooting at MIGs you would have to add the Soviet Union. Many of the MIG's were piloted by Soviet Pilots.
