Are you sure you wouldn't be voting for the Theologian in Chief? That's the point of the question.

I am Catholic and yes I would if I feel he was the best qualified candidate. As some have said about Romney, we are not voting for a chief theologian, we are voting for the President. I cannot see how Baptist theology would effect his being President any more than Catholic theology. Good Baptist and good Catholics both have a very high moral standard.

O'Reilly had Huckabee on to address the religion issue. One of his questions was about Evolution versus Creationism. I can't see how his personal feelings about either one of those two things has anything to do whatsoever with his ability to govern well and govern wisely. His other question did he believe non Christians were going to Heaven. Not really sure if that makes any difference in a President. Actually, the only drawback would be,if it is known that he belongs to a faith that doesn't believe Jews and other non Christians are going to Heaven, he would probably bend over backwards trying to be fair to those people to keep from being accused of being prejudice.

Too many people pigeon hole others. Baptists come in a wide variety, even Southern Baptist. The same can be said for Catholics.

Actually I would vote for Huckabee before I would for some Catholic politicians if they were running for President.

Thank God I'm Canadian.
However, there are not that many Catholic nations in the world. America and Canada are not Catholic. They were conquored by Protestants. I wonder if I lived in Quebec, though....would that be considered Catholic? When I'm voting, I usually don't notice the religion of the politician. I vote for the one who I think is the most capable.

Politicians are notorious for using religion to further their ambition.

I've pretty much decided that's the way I'm voting - nobody else in the party really interests me that much, and Ron Paul just seems a little bit too extreme right now.

I am a conservative Presbyterian/Reformed believer and I would vote for Hillary before I would vote for Huckabee.
