Take her to the vet! Fleas can kill a kitten!

Do what everyone else says and take her to the vet. Be sure to ask about some kind of bedding treatment to kill any flea eggs left in there.

After the vet treats your kitten for fleas, start mixing a small amount (1/4 teaspoon) of Brewer's yeast into her canned catfood at mealtimes. The Brewer's yeast is safe for cats, and makes the cat smell/taste unappealing to fleas. This should help prevent future flea breakouts.

Brewer's yeast won't get rid of a heavy infestation, so you will need to go to the vet. It will keep your cat from getting reinfested after treatment, and is much safer than synthetic chemicals.

Poor baby!

Yes, take her to the vet for treatment. Then close her in a flea-free room while you de-flea the rest of the house.

I don't like the idea of bug bombs: I keep having visions of toxic residue getting on *me* as well as the bugs.

Wash your bedding and perhaps anything that the kitten is using for a bed. Then liberally sprinkle your furniture and carpet with borax, and vacuum up after about 20 minutes. And keep vacuuming every day for at least 2 weeks- about the life cycle of a flea. After that, the fleas should be gone.

Good luck!

If she's over 2 days of age, she isn't too young believe it or not. Vets can supply you with the spray version of Frontline, which can be used on puppies and kittens from 2 days of age. Then you can use the spot-on version from 8 weeks of age.

People are going to tell you to bath her, in Dawn dish soap or whatever - don't, if you actually want to keep the fleas away.

Bay leaves keep fleas of small kittens too young for fllea pestisides. You can buy bay leave powder or grind them your self and sprinkle a little on the kitty. It worked when we first got our kitty.

call a vet...you may be able to get her a flea dip...they would know best rather than going out to a store and getting something that would harm her....then you may want to bomb your house or apt so that they fleas die and the kitten doesnt get them back again...

don't go to the store and get any medications or that to treat them, OTC treatments can kill kittens. Just call the vet and ask them on what you should do or if you should bring her in.

I had the same problem with my kitty, I wound up taking him to the vet, because he was so infested that it was making him sick ( he was a stray, & was that way when we found him).
