I have had previous treatments, pt, epidurals, traction, more pt. I have been waiting for disc replacement surgery to come to US and am hoping to find out outcomes from those who have had it and also doctor recommendations, if any.

I doubt you would be considered a suitable candidate for art disc replacement. From what I have read the criteria is somewhat high. Likewise they are changing their minds over spinal surgery and really will not consider this if other treatments and drugs are available. I am on Fentanyl Pain Patch and like you 'assumed' they would remove the disc as it is prolapsed, hitting the nerve roots, but no. They are leaving well alone unless I loose my bowel and bladder function, then it is a emergency with no guarantees!

Have you checked out non-surigcal spinal decompression? It may be worth checking into...while it is not a cure all it does have an 60-90% success rate in cases where it is indicated. Yours maybe or may not be a case that can be helped with decompression...only a doctor can give you the answer. Do a search on google in your area for a provider...you maybe glad you did...
