of course a lie told to you by your own system of beliefs should be more offensive. The main problem i see here is since christianity is a faith based religion, people are quick to believe anything they are told by church officials, so to them, it is the truth, and anything told to them by non-believers is automatically a lie. Even when evidence is shed on a subject, if it comes from a non-believer, its false information and not to be believed, if it comes from within the church, its an enlightenment. To accept something so readily and easily without double checking for validity, so long as it comes from an approved source, seems illogical to me, especially when these things are the basis for living.

i will understand why they're indignant by using issues that are anti-Christian. Anti is a unfavourable, so that's reflecting on them in a specially unfavourable way. however the non-Christian stuff they locate offensive because of the fact they're ideal and anybody else is incorrect, and on each occasion they communicate they're merely attempting to instruct that they are ideal, yet whilst human beings say some thing that has no longer something to do with Christianity or is against Christianity then they experience persecuted. Like cutting-factor Christians interior the Western international have any theory what persecution is. )O(

It might sound like playing games with semantics, but it makes perfect sense to me...
A lie from someone speaking outside of their realm of expertise, to me, isn't a lie -- it is a mistaken understanding. Thus, from my human viewpoint, Evolutionists have a mistaken understanding because, no matter whether they're denying the existence of God or making wild claims about the earth or the universe, in either case they're speaking outside of their realm of expertise -- because these are all things of God.
On the other hand, a lie from someone speaking from *within* their realm of expertise is definitely more offensive. Such people have access to the information which is intended to keep them informed -- if they just take the opportunity to take advantage of it.
That is why it lights me up to hear Christians telling various combinations of these stupid lies:
1) The Seventh-day (Saturday) Sabbath was replaced by Sunday observance after the Resurrection.
3) The Law of Moses was done away with at the Cross.
2) The concepts of "clean" and "unclean" were done away with at the Cross.
4) When you die your spirit goes straight to Heaven, to Hell, or to any other place.
5) Once you're saved, you cannot be lost.
6) There will be a Secret Rapture followed by seven years of Tribulation in which the Left Behind have a second chance to make themselves right with God.
7) All roads lead to Christ and/or to Heaven.
Such lies actually come from the Father of Lies -- the devil and satan. The purpose of these is to deceive Christians to the point where they end up in the Lake of Fire themselves. Too bad so many Christians swallow these deceptions of satan: hook, line, and clinker.
God bless.

I believe dear friend we must be patient with our brethren when it comes to maturity regarding doctrines. Salvation is not a snap, we go through a long process.
I have been in the faith for 20 years but I can not honestly say I already know "everything" that is right in the sight of God. After our Salvation we did not become a super human like what others think and other believers thought they should be, because we are still in the flesh.
God reveals Himself to us in our daily walk in a personal way and I believe they have their own proper time understanding the root of some teachings without Biblical proof.
I firmly believe in the Bible as a final rule of faith and practice, I have many friends from all kinds of denominations but we get along very well in this area. I don' t celebrate x'mas but they give my children gifts and I accept them, I also give them gifts but I give it to them after the celebration and not wrapped in x''mas wrapper and they understand me. They love me for what I am and I love them for what they are. I know we are deeply concern of their spiritual well being but I am afraid conversion is not our work, God can use us but I believe this must be handled with care. We can not just argue or debate just to prove they are wrong.

A lie told about Christ by a Christian.
It's also far more damaging to the Christian movement if Christians are misrepresenting what Jesus was all about.

Offensive to whom? To God or man?
A lie is a lie. The subject of the lie does not change it.

If you are telling lies about Christ, then you are not really a Christian, or you are going to hell. One might say.
