You can buy a close captioned box or tv, but not all services, channels or shows broadcast in CC. Consult your tv service provider. You can usually rent a cc box, sometimes even free for certain disabilities.

Hopefully this is a UK question - if so put BBC 1Chanel on then press teletext and tap in 888 and then he shall have his sub titles ( My old Dad is 98 years young and needs this also) good luck

If you mean a digi box then there should be a button with "Subtitles" written on it on the remote. That's what we use in out house.
