The best solution I've found so far is not to leave stuff on the counter.

While there is food out, you need to train the dog to not go into the kitchen. My dogs are not allowed in the same room as my children while they are eating. They know they are not allowed to have anything unless it is given to them. Its all in the way you train them. If you see her with the cake or whatever she has stolen, take it away from her. If she gets to eat it, she's being rewarded for her actions. Scold her and tell her no. You should have started this training a long time ago.

management is the best solution to this common problem - leave nothing unattended that you don't want her to have.
counter-surfers also tend to respond to aversives such as a tin pie plate full of pennies at the edge of the counter, so that when she jumps up, it comes crashing down with a loud noise that is meant to frighten her and therefore discourage future attempts. not all dogs respond to this and it's not a good technique to use with fearful dogs.

is he skinny with a bloated abdomen? if he's, he might have worms, that have become rid of his meals, and inflicting him to be hungry all the time. otherwise, perhaps the nutrition does not have each little thing he desires, and leaves him hungry, or possibly he's not getting sufficient to consume. We merely have farm cats and an excellent dish of cat nutrition interior the barn for them. They consume, loose determination on each occasion they want plus they consume mice, and that they are proper weight. yet they probable get lots greater exercising than an interior cat.... so perhaps attempt giving him a sprint greater nutrition. Or introducing a sparkling nutrition slowly, and in case you think he has worms (his poop would be humorous finding and probable runny) get a dewormer from the save. that's what i did for my kitten, he ate continuously! lol yet he's effective now. solid success! EDIT: and correct to the rest room paper situation, its merely because of the fact he's a kitten, they're so playful. you ought to get a cat toy with a feather on the top that he ought to play with... that's going to tire him out and save him from entering into your issues

Buy some mousetraps, set them, and leave them on the counters she likes to jump on. The snap when it goes off will scare her, and should deter her from jumping on counters again. You may need to reset the traps, in case she's a stubborn one, but it works. It also works if you have a garbage hound.

You can put one of those plastic mats with the bumps on the back bump side up on the counter. The bumps will make it uncomfortable for her to get up there.

Or you can invest in a ScatMat.

Agreed about the food. And you may want to confine the dog while you're away.

Don't be afraid to smack and scold the dog. They need boundaries and discipline too!
