Don't worry! Accidents happen! Both the chocolate and the raisin are toxic but >
One isn't going to hurt , but warn your son, If he's too young to understand then just make sure he doesn't eat chocolate when the dog is around! The reason you shouldn't give even small amounts of chocolate to dogs is that they very quickly become addicted to it and will do anything to get it.
The most dangerous forms of Chocolate are baking chocolate, dark chocolate especially over 70% and Cocoa and drinking Chocolate! Raisins, sultanas and grapes are toxic as well!
As toxicity can be unpredictable, size, weight, age, and individual sensitivity all play a role, it's impossible to say how much of any substance a particular dog or cat (Chocolate is toxic to them too) can have. Don't listen to people who say my dog eats it OK! That is their dog not yours! They might have a young fit Dane, yours could be an elderly Chi! Even in the same breed one could eat a box of chocolates with no sign of ill effects, another could eat half the box and die!

No, probably not unless he's a tiny dog. Raisins and chocolate are very harmful to dogs but in that small of an amount it shouldn't do damage. If you're still worried force feed him a little peroxide
to make him throw it up (as long as it happened within the past hour or two).

Probably not, but both chocolate and raisins are toxic so be careful. The risk is related to the size the dog and the dose. One chocolate raisin probably won't affect a lab at all but a chihuahua might get a bit sick to his stomach.

The reaction to raisins can be tricky to predict. I doubt that small amount of chocolate will cause any trouble. Check out this article on dogs and raisins though - I had no idea until last year that dogs can't eat grapes or raisins! Good luck! :)

Chocolate contains theobromine that is toxic to dogs in sufficient quantities. This is a xanthine compound in the same family of caffeine, and theophylline.
The good news is that it takes, on average, a fairly large amount of theobromine 100-150 mg/kg to cause a toxic reaction. Although there are variables to consider like the individual sensitivity, animal size and chocolate concentration.
On average,
Milk chocolate contains 44 mg of theobromine per oz.
Semisweet chocolate contains 150mg/oz.
Baker's chocolate 390mg/oz.
Using a dose of 100 mg/kg as the toxic dose it comes out roughly as:
1 ounce per 1 pound of body weight for Milk chocolate
1 ounce per 3 pounds of body weight for Semisweet chocolate
1 ounce per 9 pounds of body weight for Baker's chocolate.
So, for example, 2 oz. of Baker's chocolate can cause great risk to a 15 lb. dog. Yet, 2 oz. of Milk chocolate usually will only cause digestive problems
With such a small dose, THIS WILL NOT HURT YOUR DOG.
Hope this helps.

Okay...Let's hope that it won't hurt him. Chocolate is funny and some animals are more sensitive than others.
I once had a cocker spaniel, Heather, who ate close to 4lbs of See's candy (in one evening) from under the Christmas tree. Got a bad tummy ache but no other complications!

That is not the kind of chocolate that hurts dogs, but I have heard raisins can be bad. I'm sure one won't hurt, but I would google the raisin thing if I were you.

Its obviously not healthy for dogs to have chocolate, but your dog will be fine. My dad is a large animal veterinarian and I have given my lab pans of burned brownies before. While I wouldn't recommend doing that, dad said that when experts tell you not to give dogs chocolate, they are specifically referring to chocolate in its purest form (like cocoa or other types of baking chocolate).
