She sleeps on the floor immediately beside my wifes side of the bed. At some point during the night she gets up - goes into my 17 year old daughters room and jumps into her nice warm water bed with her. She is a golden retriever - she would have mental breakdown if she didn't have human companionship. We have an unused waterbed (daughter away in college) that she could call her own but she never goes in there.
Bought her a nice LL Beam dog bed with her name on it. She never ever sleeps on it. She will lay on the floor right next to it.

The 14 yr old cocker basset sleeps in our room on the floor on a dog bed. Sometimes we put her on the bed but she gets hot and jumps down. She likes to get under the bed.
The 4 labs sleep on their dog beds in the kitchen. My youngest used to sleep in his crate as will my 9 yo. If I open the door to the basement (it's finished) they both run down there and go straight into their crates. It's up to them. Normally though, all 4 will sleep in the kitchen.
Each night we take turns bringing 1 of the labs up for 1 on 1 time with mom and dad. They hang out with us upstairs for a little while before going back down to bed.
There is not enough room on our bed for 2 people and 4 labs.

Where they like. I have dog beds and open crates scattered around. The can sleep on my bed, or in their beds, as they choose and as space permits.
The only exception is the boys, because they don't get along. One sleeps where he wants, the other sleep in their crates. They alternate.

My male sleeps in his crate at night, and my female sleeps on a huge pillow on the floor, although she'll sneak up on the bed in the middle of the night (hubby kicks her off...she hogs the bed). When my husband goes to work he'll let my male out of the kennel, so when I wake up I have both on the bed. Great way to keep warm in Minnesota winters!

Crate, he needs to not be out all night alone, he will eat my stuff lol, and he has some behavior issues and dominance problems (came from dog rescue) so he needs to be kept out of my room at night. He is an Akita, so he will likely test me a bit ff and on all the time, just part of owning the breed, so I never stop with training or let him think I am stepping down as leader.

My oldest always sleeps with me,cuddled up and covered up with his light blanket (now that he's getting old, he's started shivering at night). My little female sometimes sleeps downstairs on a couch or dog bed, sometimes at the foot of my bed. My other male sleeps in an ex pen - his choice, he has "space issues".

My husband works out of town about an average of half the year. So when he's gone they end up taking turns on my bed, when he's home they have their own beds spread around our room. Once in awhile one or two will go sleep with one of our daughters.
