Call the DAV tell them that you were denied benifits and that you would like to retain them as your Power of Attorney for your VA case.

They will have you fill out some forms for doing so it is free of charge for them to represent you. They do a good job as do some of the others, but I find the DAV the best becuase they usually have an office in the Regional VA office where your cases are handled by the VA.

They will walk your paperwork through the process and make sure everything goes smooth and will contact you to let you know how things are going.

I have used them several times and always happy with the results

Yes, there is. First up; Make sure that you have a copy of all your medical records along with your DD214. For every injury that you have, go to a "specialist," on that type of injury in the civilian sector. Eg; Hearing, audiologist, leg, orthopedist-you get the picture. Get a letter from each one stating ; "IT is more likely than not that your injury was caused as a direct result of your service." This is important because the VA doesn't like it when you get a second opinion from a private doctor-they're afraid to contest it because you can possibly sue. With this, find a Veterans Service Rep from your state and appeal your claim. Or, find a VFW, Amercan Legion or another Veterans service organization. THey will all be able to help. The process takes about 6 to 8 months but DON"T LET UP!!! The stuff from the private doctors are very, very important and will help your case considerably.

Good luck.

There are all kinds of groups like VFW, American Legion, DAV, et al. Do a Yahoo search for any of the above and set up an appointment.

VFW was instrumental in getting my disability set up and getting a medical examination with the local VA hospital.

But there are plenty of other things besides medical they can help you out with.

Is there a woman named Denise Smith in here who administers a group called Women are Veterans too. I believe she is gay. She got a hold of a mug that was a false arrest on me. I am a nurse and would not hurt a fly. My x roommate was a drug addict and tried to get me arrested and put me in Jail which I had never been. She had to drop it as it was a false arrest states NO RECORD. So I open up in the Gay women's vet group not knowing it is as I am not gay.. Then, a Dyke harasses me. It was awful I told her to get down on her knees. The idiots name is Denise Smith

If the VA denied you anything it would only be due to one receiving an other than honourable discharge!!
Unless otherwise, you are untitled to VA benefits and that includes the homeless vets.

go to your local vfw and/or american legion posts and start talking to them. They may be older but they have a lot of experience with dealing with red tape. They also have a lot more connections than you might. They were able to help me get connected with the VFW Liaison at the VA hospital and she helped me with my claim. Between the two of them I was able to get someone to help me with my Social Security claim also. I wish you the best of luck.

Denied you what exactly? You should be eligible for various benefits. Can't help you if I don't know the problem.
