I would rather not, but if I had to so my family would be alright, I'd do it in a heartbeat. I like having an office and working at a professional job, and I don't think I'd ever have to work in a factory, but if the time ever came when nobody needed blueprints anymore, and I couldn't find any other drafting work...and since I have no other experience, I would. I wouldn't feel ashamed either. I know many people who work in factories and metal shops that are good, hard working people, and that is more than I can say about most people.

Some of the most fun I ever had was working at a factory. And I liked the politics. If you don't like Bob, you tell Bob or shut-up about it. And if Bob doesn't like you and you go tell the boss he doesn't care as long as the work is getting done. You've gotta respect that kind of thinking-in a way.

I now work in an office and the politics will kill you. I've learned to shut-up, smile and never, ever talk about anyone. It will get back to them if you do. I do my job and go home-the factory way.

When you need money to support your family, you'll take any kind of job you can get. There's nothing wrong with working in a factory, and I respect those that are willing to do it a lot more than those standing around waiting for a handout.

Sure. if the pay was good and the benefits--and the job is not so numbingly boring--then factory work is great.

Chicks dig it too

I have, and it's very mind-numbing. Decent pay though. But I didn't stay for more than a month. It's ok to get by, or if you just can't stand school and don't have an education, or to support yourself while getting an education.

I have, I hated it but I was proud to bring the money home. What an odd question, in etiquette too.
