Would you give your life to Christ like he did?
Saul was an angry man who did not like Christians at all. He yelled and screamed at them. He made nasty threats. He beat them and sometimes even killed them. Saul was definitely not a man anyone would want to try to befriend.
On this particular day, Saul was traveling to the city of Damascus. He wanted the leaders of the city to give him permission to hurt more Christians
From out of heaven, came the brightest light Saul had ever seen. The light surrounded Him. He tried to cover his eyes to shield the light, but it was so bright that it still hurt his eyes. He fell down on the ground trying to get away from it.
Then he heard a voice. It was unlike any voice he had ever heard, saying, "SAUL! SAUL! Why do you want to persecute me?"
Saul, not recognizing the voice, said, "Who are you?"
The answer came back, "I am Jesus."

Interesting question. So, Saul was violent towards other people because of their beliefs. Sounds a little crazy. Then a light hits him and changes his personality completely? Sounds even crazier.
Or is it possible that he met Jesus and was enlightened by conversation with him.
Personally, no, I'm not likely to become a christian just because I saw a bright light and someone told me his name was Jesus. That can happen in a night club, these days.
Jesus is alright with me, because he had some good ideas. Don't expect me to worship him just because he was a good guy.

Well, it'd take a lot more than a voice and a bright light, of course.
If you saw a bright light and heard a voice say "Give up your Christian faith and become a Muslim", would you? Or if the voice said "I hereby touch you with my noodly appendage - come follow me", would you convert to Flying Spaghetti Monsterism?
(for heaven's sake, don't say "yes" - just be honest and admit that Saul's experience isn't the kind of thing that should convince you to "give your life to Christ").

Depends on whether the microphone had been invented during the time of my experience, first off. And, second, it depends on whether I had taken any hallucinogens within the past several hours. If it was clearly not a hoax or hallucination, then I assume that would warrant an instant conversion.
I'm waiting, Jesus....

Just wanted to point out that I'm NOT an angry person, and I don't hurt, beat, or even threaten people.
But if there were any evidence of a supreme being I would certainly consider it.
Since there is no evidence, and reason is against it, I don't.

Sure. Shall I just wait here then, or do I need to go to Damascus?

Paul was a deeply disturbed homosexual. His lust for Timothy practically screams off the pages of the letters where he mentions this young boy. We can credit/blame Paul for much of the sickness of Xianity in regards to sex, and the role of women in society.
