hi
yes i really believe so, only because every one that has died, they always have acted a little strange before they died.....i had a friend that died this past june, i was the last one to see him in the morning, and something about him seemed different, the way he looked at me, i asked him if he was ok and he said yeah yeah im fine... he died that night in his sleep... i had another friend die in 2002, and that day he seemed very different, even another friend was with him later in the night, and he even told me, that the other person acted strangely, and was saying all sorts of things, one comment he did say was.. something feels different about today....he died in the next morning....and so have plenty of other friends or family...... this is a very good question.. something ive often thought about.......

I guess it would depend on the reason I was going to die. Will it be a car crash, after an operation, from a disease? Then I might have a sense. I don't think psychologically I will know that my time is coming to an end if it is an abrupt ending to my life. Sometimes I do have a strange feeling that something in my life is occurring. Like when I became an Aunt, I awoke at the time my nephew was born. I didn't even know that my Brother and his g/f went to the hospital. When my grandmother passed on I knew something had happened I just didn't know what for a few minutes. I hate getting that feeling!

I don't know but I do think about death. I am saved and I do believe that I will make it to Heaven but, what about my family. Will my husband and kids be able to go on with out me. I would love to see my boys grow into men. I just want to be around to lead them to God. We pray together at night and we talk about God all the time. So I don't know if you would feel different? I feel like I'm not going to be around to see them grow up (ages 2 and 4). But while I'm here I will raise them to be believers so if I do happen to die they will be well taught.

I've had near death experiences too....maybe not as bad as Captain Atheist...but rolling in my car...flipping over a guardrail at 80 mph going downhill, i was pretty sure for about 5 seconds that i was dead. it was a surreal moment....but i was very similar to captain atheist....the last thought i had before i realize the car finally stopped rolling and i was still alive was, "here comes the big crunch"

No. If I were afraid of death, I'd be a theist. I've been close to death several times and have had to be recuscitated twice. No thought of any god entered my mind at any point. I actually felt very calm and peaceful. Adrenaline is a wonderful thing.

103,
I have been very ill and had a number of different negative health conditions recently. I hope that I am able to keep my faith as I have been doing. I do not believe that I will feel any different but one never knows with Diabetes...
Thanks,

Depends on how I am going to die.
If it is a long drawn out death then yes, I will feel a little more under the weather.
If it is a quick car crash or tragic nude skydiving accident then probably not, accept for the draft.

I'm sure that my spidey=sense will be tingling, but I won't know why until...WHAM!
OR
I'll feel as if I am being watched all day long. I'll shrug off, go to bed, and them....WHAM!
OR
I'll have indigestion all day long. Before I finally go to the bathroom, I feel the pressure build. When I get there, it will be all like...WHAM!

I wholeheartedly believed I was going to die several years back, in a parachuting accident. I was one of those "atheists in foxholes" that Christians like to say don't exist.
There was no doubt in my mind that I was going to die. Understand that.
As it happens, I didn't.
But in that timeframe where I was careening toward the earth to my supposed doom, I only had one thought...
"Crap... this is gonna hurt.".
That was it. I even kind of chuckled at my bad luck.
True story.
So no, I don't see myself feeling differently the next time I face death.

More than likely... there are certain steps the body/mind goes through during the death process, into the bardo between death of THIS body and rebirth into a next existence.
