24 And he turned back, and looked on them, and cursed them in the name of the LORD. And there came forth two she bears out of the wood, and tare forty and two children of them.

It says " little children ". If we cannot assume their age from this, can we at least assume they were midgets?

I guess to punish KIDS because of calling someone ''a bald man'' God had to turn them into adults to make them accountable for their deeds.

A MIRACLE! And dontcha argue with me on that one, child! :P

I am not a Theologian but I believe this is what happens when children(they must have known what they were doing) @ an age of discernment, as if they were mocking the very name of God so he being close to God cursed them. Be very careful when putting a curse on some 1 you never know if it will come true but if you are right w/God He protects in ways you can't possibly imagine. Besides they were standing in the way look @ how Jesus had brought out the demons of the man that came to Him asking that He not cast them into outer darkness but into the swine that later killed themselves jumping off a cliff.

Lads or little children in the bible are 19 to 25 years of age. This is a mob, a gang, a mean spirited bunch. Elijah has just gone up into the heavens as the birds fly and been delivered to a secret place to write, the leaves Elisha for the field and now they are screaming a him to, "go up". Go up as Elijah did, a mob trying to boss God and his prophet that is doing good to good people and bring the dead back to life.
Jacob sons ages 25,26,27, wiped out all of Shechem. Never under estimate
a mob. Who would not want a couple of she bears to entertain them while you escape.

So Elijah did not go to heaven, if any did, there would be no need for Christ Jesus to come. John 3:13-17; After Jesus ascends back to heaven, no one goes until in the time of the end.

listening to the word of God is a private situation and no you're able to do it for you. Church human beings inform you that the W.O.G. is the Bible, yet they lie. they have chosen to place their faith in a e book incredibly than Christ and rejecting eternal existence. In John 14:6 Jesus mentioned he's the way and the reality, yet church homes lie and say that the Bible is certainty. examine Rev. 19:11-sixteen the place it describes Christ. In vs. 13 it states "and his call is talked approximately as the word of God" Get it, Christ is the word of God no longer a e book, John a million and the word grew to become flesh and dwelt between us. correct to the KJV, that's not proper. some different subjects are that at one time it mentioned Thou shalt commit adultery and it additionally talked approximately Ruth as a he. that's even regardless of the undeniable fact that greater constructive than maximum English variations. Christ mentioned he will deliver the comforter (Holy Spirit) to coach you all issues, so why does silly guy think of the bible is so significant.

Why people have issues with this passage: "oh the slaughter of innocent children". Like if we invented righteousness. Why can't we look at what we are doing in our hospitals with Children not even borne yet or in conflict zones with our grown Children and those of our enemy? We embrace killing of the innocent in peace and war but shout against God: "unjust!".
And to think that we don't even have a clue of how old they were.

They were old enough to cast blaspheming words upon Elisha (God's annointed) after he explained the "going up" of Elijah.

When a Prophet curses you - you are cursed. If the youths were from God fearing parents they would know not to mess with a prophet of God. God told Israel to not raise rebellious children because God said He would kill them.

You don't mess with God's annointed. God was going to destroy all of Israel for rebelling against Moses and Him, but Moses begged for their lives.

I have said many times on this forum GOD WILL NOT BE MOCKED and no one listens. Every Christian wants to believe that God is good, sweet, kind, gentle, meek, weak, loving, cute, enjoyable and they would prefer baby Jesus still in the manger.

God is love, but when the Word says, "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom," you'd best reverance with sincere respect and fear because you can't even stand on your own two feet in front of Almighty God. His presence takes all of your strength and you are flat of your face.

Those she bears slapped those young people around and scratched them up badly, but God can cast you into eternal fire in hell.

Well, I haven't seen the version where they are called teenagers. However, the hebrew word used for boy, נַעַר (na’ar) can refer to a broad age range, from infants to young men. The thing is, since they are qualified as "young" or "small", it does make sense to assume they are children.

Since the age is not specified, just the size, saying they were older shouldn't be a problem.

god prefers she bears over taunting children.

well they got what deserved how dare they taunt a baldy man.
let the punishment fit the crime.

taunting=a good bear mauling, that'll teach those pesky kids, scooby.
