Our venue requires business causual for our rehearsal as they may have other events going on at that time, but we arent having a formal dinner, just parents and those in the wedding party (very few) coming back to our house for a nice casual dinner. I want to stand out as the bride, how do I do this if everyone else is dressed up as well? And I dont want to go over the top because the dinner afterwards is very casual and relaxed. Also, Im assuming I should wear something somewhat comfortable as the wedding is the next day... any suggestions? Oh and it will be February. Thanks so much!

I dont mean stand out like wear a prom dress or everyone must be looking at me at all times, Im just saying that I want to look stunning and special as I really want to feel comfortable since I will be the center of attention and there will be lots of pictures. I know everyone wil already be focused on me since Im the bride, I just want to look the part, thats all. I dont think that makes me a premadonna or anything...

I would suggest wearing dress pants and a tasteful top thats not to revealing. Or a skirt and blouse set. As long as it doesnt look like some thing you wear on dayz off your good. Since your the bride buy something new to wow them so you know your special. Going over the top would be like buying Vera Wang or something lol, but you get the idea. Hit your fav shops and see what you find, as for your wedding day. Make sure the outfit you do buy makes you feel like a million dollars its your day shine brightly. Congratulations and hugs

When I go to a musical rehearsal I wear comfortable sweats, gauchos, or shorts (Be careful, a lot of dances include kicks. Short shorts could be bad!) and then where a comfy t-shirt. I also try to stay true to my character. For example. I am currently rehearsing for grease at my school, and I am Marty. So for rehearsals I always wear my hair down, because that is how it will be in the real show and I want to begin practicing dancing with it that way. I also have been wearing low cut shirts or tank tops because I know my costumes are going to be more revealing, and once again I want to practice dancing in similar attire. These small things will help you develop your character as well as make the transition into costumes easier. Shoes are more difficult. If you have jazz shoes I would wear those. If not wear ore flexible tennishoes. Pumas work really well. Some choreographers will let you dance in your socks, but once again, you probably wont be in your socks when you perform. Practicing as close to as you will perform will be helpful. If you are a chorus role and don't have a defined character create one! If you start adding detail and dimension to your character now, then when you get on stage you will be more than just that one kid...this will help you stand out. Hope I helped, and Break a leg!

I wore something white, just a simple dress, to my rehearsal dinner in keeping with the bride thing! You will stand out no matter what though, people will be looking for you because you're the bride. A simple dress is acceptable even for a casual dinner especially because you are the star!

I have only been to one rehearsal dinner. The bride just wore a black and white dress, nothing really fancy but cute and comfortable.
You don't need to stand out as the bride by dressing different. Your guests know you are the bride no matter what you wear.

If it were me and you really wanted to stand out, wear a nicer white, ivory or light pink dress, maybe with a shawl to keep you warm. For mine I tried to dress nicer too since I was afraid they'd have another party going on at the time, so I wore I nice pair of black pants and a pretty long sleeved red shirt. Our dinner was also very casual, but I wanted to be sure to look nice because I was meeting some relatives of my husbands that I'd never met.

Because of how few people will be at the rehearsal, I don't think you need anything special to single you out as the bride - - they all know who you are.
Besides, you will be hosting the dinner in your own home, you won't be in public where you may want to "show off" a bit and get a little attention from others around you.

How about a nice white sweater and pants? That way you are still wearing white plus you have the business attire done. Spread the word that no one else is to wear a white sweater. I don't think you need anything to set you apart, they know you are the bride. If you really want to, then just tell them not to wear the same color sweater you are.

Just wear a pretty dress. Your big smile and glowing expression will make you stand out from everyone else- you don't need to do anything special for that!

Dress up a little more than usual. Perhaps something that borders on semi-formal. Definitely go with a dress.
I love the idea of wearing something white. Being that it's Feb, you could even go with winter white.
Maybe like a sweater dress. I've seen some really cute ones out recently. Business casual-expect most people to be in khakis, black pants. You know--same ol. If you are a step up from that, you'll be ready for all the pictures.

Maybe a little bit of silky or sheen to the fabric. Or velvet. Perhaps even something fur trimmed if you live in a cold area. Even though the atmosphere if casual and relaxed, you want to look your best b/c everyone is going to be looking at you. Don't be afraid of something a little more bold that you might naturally wear.
Another good idea is to wear your colors. My colors were turquoise and coral (it was a tropical June wedding) and I had a very casual luau rehearsal. I wore a turquoise 3tiered long cotton skirt with a black dressy tank top. Definitely go with comfortable of course but you can be comfortable without looking like just another guest. I don't know about you but this was when I met many of my husband's family for the first time.
