My daughter started kindergarten a month after her 5th birthday. Everyone told me to wait a year she is too young and will be behind-- My daughter is now 9 - Reads my college books and every other book in site-- She is also in gifted programs and has never brought home anything less than a perfect report card-- My 15 year old, We will not even talk about! Be proud of your child. Encourage what they are good at.

Of course it's okay! That's great that you are actively involved with your child reading. A lot of parents don't and just wait for when they go to school. So congrats and you should be proud of your son but you as well.

I think that the datum you child loves to parse books, and takes a very staid interest in learning is quite especial.

P. S I hope that the love of being a philomath will no doubt
provide quasi minsterations when he grows up.

Every child is different! The schools base what is good according to the average child. So keep reading to him and realize that you are his first and best teacher! Kids hahve to learn at home to get ahead.

I didn't know reading had levels. Is this some kind of game? Why does the number of words per page matter? keep encouraging it though. Try to get him into math, anyone can read, but most people don't really learn math.

Yeah that is good. You should be proud of him! My brother is 8 and he has allot of trouble with reading. he dreads it every time he has to red. so you should make sure that your son continues to enjoy reading, so he doesn't think of it as a burden later in life.
