Here are four recipes that I make every year to give as Christmas gifts. They are absolutely scrumptious! Enjoy! And Happy Holidays!
CANDIED WALNUTS
1/2 cup butter
1 cup brown sugar (packed)
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
4 cups walnut halves
Melt butter in microwave 1 minute on High using a 1-1/2 quart casserole dish. Pour brown sugar and cinnamon into butter. Microwave on High 2 minutes; mix. Add walnut halves to mixture, stirring well. Microwave 3 to 5 minutes on High. Spread onto waxed paper; cool. Serve hot or cold.
Yield: About 4 Cups
MINTED NUTS
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup water
2 tablespoons Karo syrup
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract
6 large marshmallows
3 cups walnut halves
Combine sugar, water, Karo syrup and salt in a heavy saucepan. Cook over high heat until mixture reaches 230 degrees on a candy thermometer. Remove from heat and stir in peppermint extract and marshmallows, until melted. Stir in walnut halves until coated. Pour out onto waxed paper and separate into pieces when cool enough to handle.
Yield: 3 Cups
PERFECT PECANS
1 stick butter
2 pounds pecans (shelled)
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
Lawry's seasoned salt (to taste)
Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Melt butter in pan. Stir in pecans, Worcestershire sauce and seasoned salt, to taste. Stir to coat. Spread onto baking sheet and bake 10 to 20 minutes, stirring every 5 minutes, until pecans are lightly browned. Drain on brown bag. Store in airtight container.
Yield: 2 Pounds
SNACK MIX WITH HONEY GLAZE
4 cups corn chex
1-1/2 cups miniature pretzels
1 cup walnut halves (or other nut)
1/3 cup butter (or margerine)
1/4 cup honey
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a large bowl, combine corn chex, pretzels and walnut halves. Over low heat, melt butter or margerine; stir in honey. Pour over cereal mixture and toss to coat. Spread onto 10" x 15" jelly roll pan. Bake 12 to 15 minutes, or until glazed, stirring occasionally. Cool slightly and spread on waxed paper. Cool completely and store in container.
Serves: 8 to 10

Melt some white chocolate and cover the chex mix, pretzles, m&m's, nuts.....whatever you like. Then put on a cookie sheet to dry.....

New Orleans Snack Mix
3 T. margarine
1/4 cup cayenne pepper sauce (Durkees)
1 T. Worcestershire
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
2 cans potato sticks (1 1/2 oz. each, Durkees)
2 cans French fried onions (2.8 oz. each, Durkees)
2 cups corn chex cereal
1 cup mini pretzels
In 250 oven melt butter in 9 x 13" baking pan. Stir in hot sauce, Worcestershire and Parmesan cheese. Add remaining ingredients, one at a time, stirring after each addition; Bake uncovered at 250 for 45 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes. Makes 2 quarts
Crunchy Party Mix
1/4 cup butter
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 teaspoon seasoned salt
1 1/2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
few drops Tabasco sauce
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1 cup chow mein noodles
1 cup small pretzel sticks, broken into 1 1/2 to 2-inch pieces
1 cup Rice Chex cereal
1 cup Wheat Chex cereal
1/2 cup pecans
1/2 cup cashews or salted peanuts
PREPARATION:
Melt butter and blend in soy sauce, salt, Worcestershire sauce,
Tabasco sauce, and garlic powder. Place remaining ingredients in a
13x9x2-inch baking pan. Pour butter mixture over pretzel and cereal
mixture; toss gently to blend.
Bake at 250° for 1 hour, stirring occasionally. Serve warm or cold.
Chex® Barbecue Snack Mix
Prep Time: 10 min ; Start to Finish: 1 hr 30 min
Makes: 7 1/2 cups Nutrition Information
6cups Corn Chex® Cereal1 1/2cups pretzel twists1 1/2cups bite-sized
cheese crackers3/4cup honey-roasted peanuts1/2cup barbecue
sauce1tablespoon oil3/4teaspoon garlic powder
1 . Heat oven to 250°F. In large bowl, combine cereal, pretzels,
crackers and peanuts; mix well. Set aside.2 . In small bowl, combine
all remaining ingredients; stir until combined. Pour over cereal
mixture; stir until evenly coated. Spread in ungreased 15x10x1-inch
baking pan or shallow roasting pan.3 . Bake at 250°F. for 1
hour, stirring every 15 minutes. Cool 20 minutes or until completely
cooled. Store in tightly covered container.
White Chocolate Party Mix
1 pkg (9 oz) butter flavored pretzels
6 cups toasted oat O-shaped cereal
6 cups crispy corn cereal
2 pkg. salted peanuts (7 oz)
1 pkg. (24 oz) almond bark candy coating
Divide first 4 ingredients into 6 equal portions, keeping each ingredient separate. Layer ingredient portions evenly in 6 (3 cup) clear containers with airtight lids. Seal and store in a cool, dry place. Place 6 candy coating squares, chopped, in each of 6 small jars or bags to accompany each jar of party mix. Note: for testing purposes only, Snyder's of Hanover Snaps Pretzels, Cheerios and Corn Chex were used.
Attach these directions: Remove candy coating squares from jar. Microwave candy coating in a large microwave safe dish at High 1 minute, stirring until coating is smooth. Pour contents fro other container into melted coating, stirring to combine. Spread White Chocolate Party Mix onto wax paper. Cool 30 minutes. Break apart and store in an airtight container.
