i was anorexic, and am recovering, so gaining weight, but it's all going onto my middle. i'm not overeating, although quite a lot compared to what i used to, but i eat 1200 - 1500 calories with quite a lot of exercise. i'm 100lbs and 5'6, aiming to gain another 5lbs, but i've gained so much on my middle, my body is storing every single calorie i'm consuming, when will it stop this and distribute my weight? because i've been recovering for a month and its not changing, i look permanentely bloated and out of proportion. it's hard to fit clothes because my waist can fit a uk 6 (us 0) but i could almost fit both my legs in one of the trouser legs. i look stupid with a fat belly and stick arms and legs, i'm fed up of it!

I think you eased off the aneorexic diet way too slowly, your body is still in maulnutrition mode and saving everything it can.
When you stopped you should have eaten the most you possibly could of whatever you had avaliable for the first week to pull your body out of this. Which may still work now, try it, eat a large volume (not necessarily bad) of food for the next week get at least 3000 calories per day and see if that can jump start your metabolism. It's probably been in hybernation for a while so this won't be easy.

Your body is probably storing the energy in the food you eat because its not used to having so much. You will probably have this until you are at a safe weight for your height and eating regular healthy meals- then you will even out and the weight will begin to disperse around your body so you dont look out of proportion. Get well soon x

p.s- a uk size 6 is a usa size 2

Check out the book "You on a Diet" Dr. Oz talks about your omenteum. Your diet may not be balanced. Are you working with a nutrition professional? It still sounds like you are on a too low of a calorie diet. If you are working out a lot you should be getting at least 1500 calories if not more.
