I need to drop about 40-50 pounds. I have never really dieted seriously or ever had an exercise program. How do I find the motivation to get started and to continue once I get going? Where do you all get your motivation?

I would think of the changes my life would take with a health body weight. To help stay motivated do ot weigh yourself daily.Keep in mind that success is sometimes measured in baby steps and that a slow and steady weight loss is healthier for you.To stay motivated keep in your thoughts that you will be addinng time onto your lifeline with better health. You are worth the effort.Speak to your doctor about how to achieve your weight loss goals in a safe and healthy manner. My sister lost about 50 pounds about 4-5 years ago and has successfully kept it off.She said it requires a lifestyle change not a quick fix.She did it and you can do it too......one day at a time.Maybe start in the new year as you may find it difficult to start at this time of year. You could also ask your friends and family to support your through this journey .Good luck.

I get motivation from looking at old (skinnie) pics of myself or watching a good diet story on tv. Hang in there!!!!

take it slow and don't weigh yourself every day- it'll just discourage you.Instead try every week. Take pictures of your progress and you'll be sure to be motivated.Hope I helped.
