Of the last two universities I've attended there has been one student at each who has what seems like burnt skin. Is this a skin disease of some sort, or have they been involved in some sort of accident. I feel really bad about them, they sit alone and don't socialize much. I don't want to ask them what happened, but maybe someone here has a response?

There's no way to know unless he tells you. I can see how you really feel for them. Maybe get to know them, I sure they're pretty nice people. Good luck. 2D

Be friendly, treat them as though they don't have scars, and don't ask. Lots of people have gotten burned in fires. If you look past the "disfigurement" you might find they are really great, interesting people to know! If you get to be good friends, they might at some point choose to tell you what happened, but a lot of peole don't like to talk about traumatic events. It's a lot like reliving it.
Just treat them the way you would if they didn't have the scars. That's the best thing you could do for them.

i agree with 2D, besides I'm sure they could use the friendship. at least show you care. and just talking to them might bring them to let you know whats their condition is.
