Why would that be so hard to believe and why would that make him anything less in your eyes?

Yes. In those days to be called a Rabbi or even to be a member of society in good standing one needed to be married with children. Those without children were considered to be out of favor with God, who commanded his followers to "be fruitful". Many characters in the Bible lament at not having children for this reason. Thus, if Jesus was as popular and followed as is written, he'd have to have been married with children. As to why this was omitted from the Bible... the Bible as we know it today was built by a group who voted on all the hundreds of "books" that were circulating in early Christianity- obviously they were arguing about Jesus' deity status so they decided that a deity shouldn't have to be married or have children so they eliminated all references to that area of his life. If you read the gnostic texts however, you find many interesting things... such as Jesus' childhood, Mary's conception, and also the origin of the alabaster jar Mary Magdalene used to anoint Jesus (it was from his mother Mary- which would have only been given to his wife!).
This isn't to say that he wasn't a deity or that he didn't exist. Only that there is possibly more to the story than the current Bible describes... just as there is more to every event than history gives description to.
Blessings to you.

If he was married it would have been included in a Scripture. Marriage is meant for the building up of one another in faith and love as well as procreation. Jesus is God's son and had no reason to marry because he was God personified and had all the faith and love that he could ever need. Jesus was also a man on a mission literally. If he were married it would only have hindered his mission. He could not have had time for a wife or for children of his own because he was much too busy doing the work of His Father. Some people are not meant to be married and Jesus was one of those people.

No, Jesus wasn't married. There are logical reasons for him not being married.
1. He did not come to be married, but he came as a ransom for the sins of mankind. Knowing that his purpose was death, why would he put a wife and family through that hardship. (John 18:37, 1 John 3:8)
2. By Jewish law, if a man was married, and he died, his brother was to take the dead man's wife as his own and the first child they had together would be the dead man's child. If Jesus was married, he would have given his wife to James, his brother, not given his mother to John the disiple (Deuteronomy 25:5,6 John 19:26,27)
3. There was a third Jewish sect (along with the Pharisee and Sadducees) known as the Essenes. They differed from both the Pharisees and the Sadducees. They were Jewish monks or hermits, passing their time little in society, but mostly in places of obscurity and retirement. They were a contemplative sect, having little to do with the common business of life. The property which they possessed they held in common. They denied themselves, in a great measure, the usual comforts of life, and were exceedingly strict in the observance of the duties of religion. They were generally more pure than the rest of the Jews, and appear to have been an unambitious, a modest, and retiring sort of people. The two sexes were not in company except on the Sabbath, when they partook of their coarse fare (only bread and salt) together. They practiced dancing in their worship. The teachers (who were called Rabbi, for Rabbi means "teacher") never were married; they were opposed to oaths, and they asserted that slavery was repugnant to nature. In regard to doctrine, they did not differ materially from the Pharisees, except that they objected to the sacrifices of slain animals. They perpetuated their sect by proselytes, and by taking orphan children to train up. Many learned scholars believe that Jesus was an Essene. It is commonly accepted that his cousin John was also an Essene.

This is just 3 primary reasons, there are many more.

The thought ("...mak[ing] him anything less in your eyes") follows on the fact and is not before it. So, is it a fact. No. The Catholic church has always held that he wasn't. And the Prods, who would love to contradict anything Catholic, held the same thing. And what really makes it a fact is that Jesus was part of a religion that required rabbis to be married. There would be an interest in knowing whether he was or not. So, I don't have get to the second part of your statement (the thought). However, I would bet my Aston Martin that you think less of Jesus for being unmarried. Am I right ?

No. The Bible does not teach that Jesus had a wife or kids, and this would have been a problem since He is not only a man, he is God incarnate. Why would God muck up his temporary humiliation by hooking up with a woman that he would not be around to care for after the crucifixion? What would he say to her when she shows up in heaven, "hey honey, I missed you???" God didn't come to have conjugal relationships with his creatures, he came to save them and then return to whence he came.
Besides, what would his children be called, God Jr? And what could God have intellectually in common with a finite female? The Bible says the whole church is Jesus' Bride, and He is its groom and head.
Also, all this malarky that He had to be married because he was Jewish is bogus. The Apostle Paul wrote most of the New Testament and he said himself he was single. And John the Baptist was older than his relative Jesus, and he had no wife. It may always be preferable to have a wife, but nobody breaks the law by not. Jesus would not because it would serve no real purpose.

No, He was not. He was a single man. He did not come here to form a family. There is nothing wrong about the marriage. If Jesus was married, it would be in the Bible and there would be some kind of record of it.

Think of it this way. Jesus said that from the beginning it was intended that a man leaves his mother and father and cleaves to a woman. The two would then become one flesh.

Jesus came to reconcile us back to the Father which sin had seperated us from. He didn't come here to become one flesh with anyone. He came as prophesied to allow us justification by fulfilling the Law that we could not observe perfectly, and to share His testimony with us in the flesh.

After He showed us through Himself, God's eternal love and character He went back to the Father until He returns for the Harvest.

Yes I believe He was married. That makes Him more in my eyes, not less.

Jesus was never married. He was sent to earth for the purpose of making atonement for the sins of all mankind and teaching people about how to find God. He did not come to this earth to be married and have children.
