my psychiatrist was out for the holiday and he didn't leave anyone to cover for him. so i went to my family doctor and he flatly refused to give me any medicine. so i contacted the psychiatric hospital two hours away from where i live and they had no room and so i had to go all the way to San Antonio to a hospital there and they didn't even want to give me meds for anxiety. and if i go to the MHMR they don't want to send me to a hospital and so i could very easily stay home and kill myself. does anyone else have a problem remotely similar to this? and if you do are you in texas? i want to hear from others and learn why this problem is so.

You've said it well. The profession has deteriorated tremendously and those in it commit numerous betrayals, which actually account for thousands of deaths per year.

Also, most of them are puppets of the drug companies and they mostly have a database of names of pills for names of conditions, provided to them by these companies.

I'm trying to endure illness myself, right now, because I'm afraid to go to them or trust them.

I think that some punk kids decide this is a field where they can make money when they're young, and then they become doctors - having ambition, but not principles or much caring or concern.

Regarding nurses, many are recruited on TV during the hours that unemployed people stay home and watch it. There was a nursing school by where I used to work, and they stood around outside smoking like a bunch of sluts.

If you think all of this is bad, just wait until the Democrats bring about so-called "universal" health care, really socialized medicine. The cures will be worse than he illness and it will be horrific beyond belief.

I still believe there are SOME decent people still out there, though.

Modern medicine is best at treating trauma injuries, but they're not that great on treating CAUSES of disease and often are too fast to prescribe pills, in my opinion.

No, I have a great psychiatrist and psychologist, but I belong to a special program where they come to you!!! Yesterday when I was feeling really shi***y and I called R he came over and talked me through it and told me to call him that night. He had the emergency line but he took it so that he could stay in contact with me, because he's not scheduled to have it until the week before Christmas. Last year when two of his patients were in crisis he keep the emergency line for three weeks so that they could reach him when ever they needed to. He knows that since I was diagnosed with breast cancer things have been pretty dicey with me and he calls and we email each other at least once a day. He want to make sure that I can make it through this in one piece at least psychologically. People who aren't happy with thier GP's change GP's why don't they change therapist, psychiatrist or psychologist??? You have a right to go to someone who has you're best interst at heart and who matches your personaility.

HHmmm. Sounds like they are very concerned about you abusing the anti-anxiety drugs. A family doctor that won't hook you up when knows you are diagnosed? Yep, sounds like a concern that you are abusing.

Docs and shrinks that I've been involved with care but they distance themselves so they don't CARE. Its a self defense mechanisms. They can't get all blubbery over us or rapidly they will cease to be able to do their jobs effectively.

Your shrink should have left a person who could give you an emergency script. And its very weird that he didn't. Or was it simply that he annotated in your file that no one was to write a script for such and such med for you due to.....

My doctors are totally like this, everytime I got ere they tell me it's becasue I eat umproperly, I could tell that that my ear is hurting and they'd say I need proper nutrition, I am fit, I'n not overweight, and there is more to it, all they want is their money at the end of the day and don't care how they get it. I don't know what to do about it 'cuz that's who our insurance wants us to go through!
