every year I gather any children in the family and spend a day making salt dough ornaments. Then pick another day for us to bake for the neighbors and send them out to each door.

Yes, we are getting away from the gifts and retail Christmas to a more Christ centered homemade gifts and homemade ornaments type of Christmas. We hide the candy canes that go on our tree on Christmas Eve for the grandkids to find, too. We started that tradition when my oldest grandson was little. They get to eat some and put the rest on the tree. I don't know why, but they just seem to love that. lol We also make C-mas suet and bird ornaments for the birds. We used to string popcorn, cereals and berries for them but it took forever and the little ones can't use a needle and thread. We have others but it would take me more room than I have to write them. Good question. Share one of yours with us.

My family has several traditions. The kids put up the Christmas tree while I "supervise" (which is the technical word for "make teasing and irrelevent comments whilst I sip hot coffee and watch"). This was completed last weekend.

Next on our list is our annual "assemblage of the tall neighborhood boys" onto our Victorian wrap-around porch, so they can hang our Christmas lights. Since I am 4' 11 3/4" tall, I am unable to assist. However, I do "supervise" (as per the meaning described above).

On the night of Christmas Eve, we always open one small present each. The house lights are off, so the only light comes from the tree's lights. It's really a special time. We typically sit near the tree and talk about the true meaning of Christmas, tell jokes and laugh together about silly stuff.

We traditionally have a HUGE Christmas dinner, but that's unlikely this year due to financial constraints. : (

Um... on Christmas Eve all human beings bypass to church, each and every individual in my family members is going on each and every parents's section so the is alot of persons. Then we bypass residing and make santa cookies(my little brother and sister are 4 and my sister is 7) and placed them next to the tree, then all human beings bypass to mattress. On Christmas my little brother and sisters continuously yell the finished place of abode down telling us that santa has been and so all human beings bypass downstairs and open the can provide at like 5:30am. Then we bypass out for breakfast with dad's part of the family members and get residing at approximately 10. Then parents rush around frantically making waiting Christmas Lunch for all human beings and the million or so family members individuals that mum has invited. After lunch all human beings grant can provide from each and every diverse and open them. Then at 3 all our friends(mine and parents's friends family members almost as good as Ashley's) come over and mingle with the family members and then for dinner that night time there is traditionally like 60 persons so we've a large Aussie BBQ. We have a family tradition of giving ornaments. When we have an addition to the family, they get an ornament and usually catch on. We have honestly slipped a few times but its kind of nice.

I'm atheist. we put up the fake Christmas tree about the 15th, and buy PJs for the kids to open Christmas eve along with a book about Santa, give them their bath, put them in their new pjs, and send them to bed early, then we have a few drinks and watch tv peacefully until about midnight . we get up Christmas morning, the kids open their presents and my daughter goes to work( heavens forbid they let an atheist have that day off) while the rest of us start to prepare a feast to welcome the new solar year

You might get better answers in the Christmas Holiday section. I'm not sure Christians are the majority in this section.
