Be polite. Just because someone has something to say does not necessarily mean you are required to listen. If you are strong in your faith then whatever they say should not really affect you. I listen so that I understand where they are coming from. Sometimes it is interesting. If you truly do not want to deal with it then politely say that you are not interested and thank them for their concern for you.

I'm Jewish. I find it delightful when someone tries to influence me as I know that I've met a person with a connection to G-d. They are hard to come by today.

At first, I suggest we sit down together in a public place and read from the Torah, a book we both agree on. And just read a few verses and restate the plain meaning. Nothing too deep. All I ask is we stick to the book and not say anything that would challenge each other's faith.

I always invite missionaries into my home and it has always been a pleasant experience for all of us.

Shalom,
Gershon

Ask your self the obvious question: " How did anything on the earth come into being?" Then read Genesis and go from there. God is truth. Now you don't have to look any further. Just study His word, and believe in Jesus as your personal savior from sin. May the Lord bless you with the knowledge and wisdom to find these things out. The Holy Spirit is already at work in you. God bless.

Paul said "believe (look into) all things and hold fast to that which is good". Look for the posative and if it is overwhelming, you are on the right track. The Church of Jesus Christ says if there is a truth in the world, it is part of the doctrine of the church. some try to produce a truth with a creed, but truth is constant. My advice, then is to look for the truth.

You listen to them, read their material and decide if you like it or not. If you think it if does not attract you then tell him that no more interested in your religion. He should leave you alone after saying this.

Listen to what is said. If Bible is used or cited, read passages in context. Question him about these things, weather or not they line up with Bible. Tell him what you believe. If what you hear lines up with Bible, consider it, if not reject it. Be aware many groups will take verses out of context, or misuse Bible in other ways.

Listen to what they have to say, there is nothing wrong with learning something new. Then you could say: no thank you. Or you could ask for new information that interests you.
