end up becoming "Christian" holidays?

I don't know, but if I get any lonelier for my family during this FREAKING season of comfort and joie, I am going to invent a National Hagen Dass week during which we pigans will frolic around HUGE mounds of ice cream wearing nothing more than a bib. That oughta scare all the religious folks back into church, so we pigans can have the streets and the ice cream all to ourselves.

For one, we shouldn't have to come up with new ones just because another religion decided to appropriate them for their own. Have the Christians decided to make up their own because ours came first or exist at the same times? No. So why should be give up our sacred days??!!
Besides, we celebrate our sacred days completely differently than the Christians do. We don't "advertise" our holidays right now anyway. Secular holidays have appropriated these holy days from both Pagans and Christians anyway: Easter bunny (though Pagan in symbolism), Santa (though again Pagan in symbolism), and Halloween's trick or treating, etc.
Also, we didn't just choose the dates randomly... most fall on significant times: solstices and equinoxes and cross-quarter days. These dates aren't just special because of what we celebrate, but because of their own significance- which we acknowledge.
Blessings to you.

Good idea. We should also come up with holidays that the Christians wouldn't want to begin with.

While we're at it, we should probably organize some pagan/atheist mixers.

I celebrate the holidays without worrying about who else shares the date. However, I'm all for coming up with new holidays if I can get paid for them. Merry Zeusmas!

Naaaa ... We are generally do not get caught up in "whose" holiday or tradition it is. We like to share, because that is the pagan way ... Love all and everything regardless of who they are ...

Probably, but then, if they weren't advertised, they wouldn't be allowed to take those days of to celebrate, would they?
