Absolutely not!!!! - I too do not possess nor do I want a microwave oven - I prefer to prepare and cook my food in a 'traditional' oven.

Well, to be honest, I only use mine for re-heating food. I live alone and when I make stew, I always have leftovers. Heating some foods in the ordinary oven, apart from being slow, tends to dry them up. If you dont re-heat food too often, then no, you are missing nothing and will have more work-space in your kitchen !

No, you're not missing out. My hubby and I have one of the first mini microwaves. It has no turn table and the timer on it is a turn dial. This thing is old. We only use it to re-heat or melt things in a hurry. We don't buy microwave meals. We do all our cooking on the stove or grill.

Although I don't "cook" per-se in the microwave, there are plenty of reasons to have one, especially if you do a lot of reheating, melting, etc. to do at the same time as your meal is cooking, then microwaves can be a boon.......and this rubbish about "irradiated food" is nonsense......People will go and lay in the sun and cultivate skin cancer, and think NOTHING about that, but freak out when they warm up their coffee in a microwave.....for tasks like boiling water, warming stock from the fridge to come to room temperature, melting butter, I find mine a boon.....and the price of them nowadays, is less that a meal out for two.....Would I get another one if mine went kaput??? You betcha!!!! Enjoy!!

No, you are not the only person on the face of the earth that does not have a microwave. My friend got rid of hers because it interfered with her pacemaker. My son and his wife do not own one and I believe Sarah Molton from Sarah's Secrets on the Foodnetwork has mentioned that she does not own a microwave. So..no you are not alone.

You aren't the only person in the world, but you are missing out. Even if you only use it to reheat food once it's gone cold - but it's also great for (some) Microwave meals.

No you are not, I have a waveless kitchen, part of my relaxation is the prep and cook prior to the scoff, you don't get that with a nuke box to the same degree. I would use an open fire if I could get away with it, just call me a Luddite or similar..

Get with the times Chester! You can pick one up for about £20 and they are great for heating loads of stuff up - no more scrubbing milk, scrambled eggs etc from pans.

They are totally useless and unnecessary.
You are far better off without one.
People who can't cook have a microwave!
