My boyfriend and I... we are like inseperable. He is like my other half and I have no idea where I would be without him in my life. We talk on the phone until around three in the morning or later every night. That is the problem. We are talking to much and are running out of really good things to talk about. And- I am severely lacking sleep. Sometimes, like right at the moment, I feel like my body is just going to crash. It is hard to be aware of my suroundings. It is also showing in my school work. He is 17 and I am going to be 15 in a few days. What is a good approach on how to talk about this with him and how to end the phone call?

I also am on AIM and Myspace with him a lot. It is sort of complicated- he acts all sad when I get off and he sort of persuades me to stay on...

My best friend is like this with her boyfriend also. However she is still doing it
Next time you're on the phone & when you feel like you need to sleep just tell him "Alright I need to sleep now, talk to you tomorrow" And he should accept that, If not say "Well love ya bye" and just hang up, and if he keeps calling, turn your phone off!

Actually the problem with both of u is that you are not able to tell each other what is really in your heart. You may be feeling shy or finding it difficult to tell. So instead of coming straight to the point you may be beating about the bush. It is better to frankly say what is in your mind without any feeling of what will be the outcome. Be sure you will have a good sleep and sound attraction.

Tell him your parents are upset with your grades and have put a stop on the time spent on the phone. Make it that you are off the phone no later than 10. Make sure your homework is done before you get on the phone, if not then tell him that you have to get off until it is done. Your school is your job, and if you do poorly, then your jobs will do poorly when you need them the most. Believe me you will have more boyfriends than this one, but never put family or school second.

me and my boyfriend have that problem but we both realize that we're spending too much time on the phone. Tell him that you're tired after such long conversations and that it's showing up in your school work and it's time to shorten the conversations. Or call him earlier?
If you have any instant messaging service you can talk to him on that
but don't stay up till 3 again because you're on the computer all the time =D
Hope you get some sleep soon =D

Tell him that your mom has noticed that you are really tired so you need to get some sleep so she doesnt suspect anything (well i know my mom would be been pissed if I was staying up that late at that age on the phone). Blame it on her! She wont know, and it will make him think its not that you dont want to talk to him, but that you dont want to get into trouble.

He is being selfish. There is no question about it. If he really cares about you....your rest would be important to him since you need the proper amount of rest to function at 100% capacity the next day. Telll him you need your rest to perform at maximum capacity the next day. Then turn off your ringer.

Turn off your phone at night. End of problem. Tell him your parents won't allow you to take calls after 9 PM. He is too needy.
