Hello,

In Canada and the US I have only heard two individual spokemen / women speak on the Golden Compass. Last count I saw in the stats there are 1.13 billion Catholics and I am sure a few hundred million will be going to see the Golden compass, myself included.

As for the molestation, many Catholics were choked and livid about it. Priests to hockey coaches, scout leaders and teachers who are in a position of trust should be turned over to the law and crucified. Sadly, the media only gets the opinions of a few elites rather than the masses on various issues.

you think that this world would be a better place if christians were as obbsessed with fighting against molestation as they were with fighting against HARMLESS books and movies like Harry Potter and The Golden Compass, this world would be a better place.
in a response to that statement: DUUUUUUUUHHHHHHH!!!
PS I'm not saying im against the catholic league, but they don't fight against the real issues. what would make this world a better place is the catholic league not releasing press statements and being so in your face. they need to realize that they are being so agressive, they are actually turning people against the church

The Catholic League is mostly known in American politics as a conservative organization which issues press release statements about perceived un-Christian themes in the media, through its main public face, League president William A. Donohue

They are not representatives of the Catholic church in any formal sense. In fact this is the same guy who wrote books about the ACLU. (THE I'M OFFENDED BIBLE)

If anyone should be offended it should be us. Find something better to do with your time Catholic League.

The Catholic League's mission is to make sure that the civil rights of Catholics, and religious people in general, are not trampled by those who twist the meaning of the phrase "Separation of Church and State" into something it is not.

No doubt those in the Catholic League have strong opinions about the Clergy Sex Scandal, but addressing that issue is not waht the Catholic League does.

I think many people believe because nearly everyone else does. The benefit of herd belief being so important to religion is why there is such a big fight when anybody publicly disagrees.

When you believe, it's good to shout it out loud. When you doubt, you should keep it to yourself - don't tell others. Arguments like Pascal's Wager, where is you are not sure you should "believe" anyway just in case. The only unforgivable sin is blaspheme.

It's all about keeping the image of large scale belief. When you see so many people believing something, it's very persuasive. You lose that and it crumbles.

The Catholic League is a private, secular organization that has nothing to do with the Catholic Church in an official capacity. Thanks for caring, though.
