Whether or not bull fighting is or is not animal cruelty is absolutely irrelevant to your friend going to jail for organizing a dog fighting ring. The fact that bullfighting is illegal in some countries and legal in others also has absolutely no bearing on your friend. He chose to break a law, and was caught and some punishment given out. How should something that's accepted in countries such as Spain and Mexico have any influence on him, one way or the other? And if those people are guilty of animal cruelty as you suggest, how does than pardon him? He's responsible for his own decisions and behavior, not the Spaniards.

well both are cruel but I dont see the media or the tabloids putting bull fighting in the spotlight, or I dont believe the bulls are being banned...... Im sorry but they are both different, I havent heard of anyone starting up a bull fighting ring in there backyards! but you will definitly hear about a dog fighting ring! and the sad part is the dogs are the ones being blamed for this......! but I have yet to hear how the bulls wanted to fight like I hear about the dogs! so no they are not the same, horrible as they both are!

I hate both dog fighting and bull fighting. I have 2 beautiful Red Nose Pits, and I just can't see why some one would do that. I love my dogs, and they would fight to the death to protect me and I would do the same for them. Bull fighting has a long history in Spain and other parts of the world. I still say it's wrong!

Bull fights are illegal here, but not in some other countries, and this is where they are held. Bull fights are horrible. I have seen those things on TV, where they let a bull loose in the streets and people throw spears at them. I always cheer for the bull when he stabs one of the people with his horns, they deserve it. Unfortunately it is legal in some countries.

Are you trying to justify dog fighting because there is bull fighting? Both of them are wrong. The idiots that allow bull fighting should be prosecuted also.

Yes, that is cruel and it is illegal in the US to have bull fights but unfortunately even in the US animal rights laws don't apply to livestock. It really is sad.

They are both illegal in this country and both are cruel.

It is worth noting that some Spanish countries and cities are eliminating or debating bull fighting since many people in those countries find it cruel, too.

Those fights are held in other countries where the laws are different. Where they are they are not breaking any laws. The law should be changed but until it is they will get in no trouble for Bull Fighting.
