I don't believe it's even about religion anymore...I think this is just another "power play" for them.

She was released by some Islamic politicians. Just goes to show that every religion has all types. Even though I've come across plenty of God/Jesus is love Xians, I've also seen the ones who still would kill if given the chance.
In the Book of Job, God lets Satan do all sorts of horrible things to Job and Job doesn't even complain until the end. I think this is a horrible story since this all knowing deity ruins a man to prove a point to an angel that's supposedly beneath him anyway. Others say the story shows how to be 'faithful' and what a good example Job is.
Faith and Ignorance are based on perspective.

The majority of Moslems I saw actually being interviewed were calling for her release. The press showed pictures of protesters but none of these were interviewed. Be honest if I was living in an Islamic country I think I would have been a tad more careful than the teacher was in naming the Teddy-bear.

Well....most of the things that the Muslims do are not very logical.
However, I think that this should serve as a lesson to all of us non-Muslims who are trying to help the Islamic Countries by giving them aid and assistance like with schooling, which is why the British Lady was there, in the first place.
Also, let us bear in mind that these efforts of ours are looked upon as invasion of their their preferred style of Madrases teaching only the Koran; which is what the mullahs and imams want for all the Muslims.
Look at what's happened in Afghanistan, where Afghani Teachers were executed for daring to teach young Muslim girls ! Unfortunately, these people were those who'd had the benefit of Western Education and sincerely wanted to help their peoples' lot improve. They paid the ultimate price for that.
Look at what's happening in Southern Thailand where immigrant Muslims have butchered Buddhist monks!?
Not to mention the two young gay lads whom the Muslims hung in Iran, some time back. And the may incidents of stoning to death and "honor killings" of raped young Muslim girls and single mothers.
They seem to be a very confused lot, unfortunately, these Muslims.
Many of them seem to just want to make a living, but, there are those who get brainwashed by their mullahs and imams, who are generally not the best kind of people and are rather delusional power hungry people.
The unfortunate thing is that these more fanatic ones control all the others and have nothing but Hate for all others who do not subscribe to their own irrational notions.
Ergo, they pose a problem to all of us non-Muslims because wherever the Muslims come in, they bring along their Mosques, then build ghettos and then come the mullahs and imams and you generally have a lot of problems following that.
I think that we non-Muslims should, first of all, withdraw all kinds of aid and assistance to Muslim Countries. The recent "teddy bear" incident is reminder of why.
We should also remove all our Companies and money from these Islamic theocracies because we need to send our people there to manage them and the fanatic lot see all these improvements as invasion into their own culture, which has had violent repercussions in many incidents like the ones where journalists got beheaded, etc.
Also, I feel that we should ban their Mosques, which are a general nuisance with their screaming prayers 5 times a day and the other problems of the ghettos building up where the Mosques come up and so on.
We definitely need to ban their Madrases because these have been proven, too many times, to be training ground for terrorism.
And, we should discourage their immigration here because their numbers are now growing to alarming proportions and they are trying to bring in their own practices like the burkha and Shari'a here, which is not acceptable to us.
While I might sound like someone who wants to hurt these people, I'm actually trying to avoid the unnecessary bloodshed which will erupt between the local people and these immigrants one day when their fanatics cause the fear psychosis to rise beyond control.
Please remember that we've had 9/11, London Train Bombings, Hate Rallies in UK, USA etc.; tons of violent incidents in all non-Muslim Countries against the locals by the immigrant Muslims, all of which prove that this is a pattern that is inescapable.
Naturally, anybody pushed too far will hit back and there will be a lot of unnecessary collateral damage of the less fanatic people being caught in the cross fire.
It's, honestly, a much better option to send those who subscribe to this back to lands where it's practiced and keep ourselves safe, you see.
Otherwise, one day, the Muslims will get slaughtered by all the others ganging up on them because they've crossed the line too many times. Trust me, that time is not too far away, unfortunately.
Peace.

Well, what I find outrageous is that there are still people in the world today who support these laws which revolve around a deity with no substantial proof to back up it's existence. That's ignorance.

Whether it was a majority or a minority of muslims, the fact that ANY of them used their faith to justify such an act, is proof enough that their "faith" can be, and often is... dangerous.

This is a doctrine of demons. It promotes violence and hatred. And justifies the innocent killing of children as well as rape, torture, stoning, hanging, lashings, and many many other inhumane punishments. Christianity doesn't breed violence but love for our fellow man. This faith singles out Christians and Jews for death. As well as any others who do not adopt their doctrine as truth.

I think it is people using their religious faith as an excuse to hate others. I am a Christian and if someone named the teddy bear Jesus it would not please me. However it wouldn't make me attempt to kill them.

God is our only judge. What you are asking about has only to do with a religion I am not fluent in and do not have the least bit of interest in. God said we are to love our neighbors therefore, killing is not the right approach.
