Mexican Fiesta Dip Mix

1/2 cup dried parsley
1/3 cup minced onion
1/4 cup dried chives
1/3 cup chili powder
1/4 cup ground cumin
1/4 cup salt

In a large bowl, combine the spices and store in an airtight
container. Attach this to the Jar

Mexican Fiesta Dip
3 Tbsp. Mexican Fiesta Dip Mix
1 cup mayonnaise or low-fat mayonnaise
1 cup sour cream or low-fat yogurt
In a medium mixing bowl combine the Dip Mix with the mayonnaise and
sour cream. Whisk the mixture until smooth. Refrigerate for 2 to 4
hours. Serve with tortilla chips or fresh vegetables.

Makes 2 cups.

Apple Streusel Pie In a Jar Mix

4 1/2 c. sugar
1 c. cornstarch
2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg, optional
1 tsp. salt
10 c. water
2 tbsp. lemon juice
28 c. sliced +quartered tart apples, (like Granny Smith)
3 drops yellow food coloring, optional
3 tbsp. dehydrated lemon peel

Make a syrup from the sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt and
water. Cook and stir until thick and bubbly. Add lemon juice. Mix
with the apples.

Pack into 7 wide mouth quart jars, leaving a good 1/2" at the top of
the jar. Seal and hot water bath for 20 minutes. Let cool.

Streusel Topping

1/4 c. sugar
1/4 c. brown sugar
1/4 c. flour
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 c. chopped nuts

Mix all together and store in a plastic bag. To use add 1/4 c.
softened butter.

Then decorate jar and attach card.

Apple Pie
1 8 or 9" unbaked pie crust
1 quart apple pie mix
1 package topping mix - 1/4 c. softened butter

Pour jar contents into pie crust, top with streusel topping mix and
bake at 350° F. for about 30 minutes. Topping should be brown and
filling bubbling.

Makes 8 servings.


Country Soup Mix in a Jar

Fills one 1-quart jar

1/2 cup barley
1/2 cup dried split peas
1/2 cup uncooked rice
1/2 cup dry lentils
2 tablespoons dried minced onion
2 tablespoons dried parsley
2 teaspoons salt
1/2 teaspoon lemon pepper
2 tablespoons beef bouillon granules
1/2 cup uncooked alphabet pasta
1 cup uncooked twist macaroni

In a wide mouth 1-quart jar, layer the barley, peas, rice and
lentils. Then layer around the edges the onion, parsley, salt, lemon
pepper, bouillon and the alphabet pasta. Fill the rest of the jar
with the twist macaroni. Seal.

Attach a gift card with the following instructions:

Add contents of jar to 3 quarts of water, 2 stalks chopped celery, 2
sliced carrots, 1 cup shredded cabbage (optional) and 2 cups diced
tomatoes. Over medium low heat, cover and simmer about 1 hour, or
until vegetables are tender.

One neat trick is to bake cake or something like a banana bread in the jar, and then use a piece of cloth and the canning ring to cover it.

I make christmas baubles. they are slightly time eating yet user-friendly and so efficient and thoughtful. purchase foam bauble shapes, beads, pins, sequins and ribbon. You thread the beads and sequins onto the pins and push them into the bauble til they are completely coated. Pin some ribbon down onto the right for the hanger. looks large and also you may make any trend or color. sturdy success and merry christmas.

Try Target, I saw a bunch of these last year.
They had mostly things like hot chocolate, cookies, fudge, stuff like that.
