I don't think they are afraid of death so much because they know they are going to heaven but I think they are afraid of taking their last breath and will they feel like they're suffocating or if it will hurt when the spirit leaves the body. I am just guessing

Because we are still living in a physical body, and the physical does not want to stop existing. It's a tug of war. Also, while we go to a better place, there is still the thought of loved ones who will be without us until we are reunited. No parent wants to leave their child. (Even the Bible refers to death as an enemy to be put down.) It is true, however, that many people who call themselves Christians live as if this life is all they will have; they kind of want to have their cake and eat it, too: to live as long as possible enjoying this life, and then enjoy the next. That can happen to all believers who take their focus off Christ and put it on themselves.

Death is a scary thing to think about for most people. It is scary because it is the unknown. Yes, I do believe that after this life we are going to a better place. Even though I know this, I sometimes get scared because dying seems scary. It also can be scary because I do believe that one day we will be judge for our actions.

I don't know of any Christians who are "terrified of death." Nor have I seen any say that on these boards. Your question appears to be more of an attempt at Christian bashing, than a question, honey. Not nice.

Riight. But we are all human. Some are unafraid of physical death, while others are terrified. That may not indicate a lack of faith. It could be a fear of leaving loved ones behind.

I'm not so much scared of death, but I am scared of what will happen to my kids if I die before they're adults.
I also fear the pain of a failing body before I die. I have nearly died before and I don't look forward to going through that kind of pain again, regardless of where I may end up afterwards.

I don't know many Christians that are terrified of death itself, just how it comes about. In my sleep, great. Burnt by a vat of acid, not so great. You know what I mean.
Have a great day!

I don't know of any Christians terrified of death. I don't want to have pain in this world, but I'm not afraid to die.
