We were together, I broke up with him, and now I'm trying to get back together, but he's telling me I need to really show him how much I care about him. What should I do?

Showing someone you care has nothing to do with money. It's about listening, paying attention, and making an effort to see this person. Buying a gift is the easy way out. Work hard at being attentive, and that will show him you care. Work hard at buying a gift, and that will only break your wallet.
Romance is not about presents. It's about long looks, listening, taking an interest in the other person's interests, long looks across the room, and small touches just to say I'm here. Gifts have very little to do with it. Good Luck!

Think about things that make him happy and run with it if there is an all time favorite movie he hasnt seen in years go buy it for him, or a record that brings back old memories, make him a nice candlelit dinner. Or, clean his apartment but dont go snooping either! Show him rather than saying it with roses, or a basketball game tickets, or concert tickets. Maybe surprise him with a puppy or a mini vacation. If your struggling for money make him a homemade dinner, rent a romantic comedy, then unwind him and rub his shoulders and then some!

Love can't be bought you need to SHOW him your sorry ie taking time to do things he likes or maybe planning a get together with him and his friends and being REALLY nice and sweet to him
