First I'd like to know what an athian is.
Second - Are you saying that Christians give Christmas gifts because they believe in Santa Claus?

Well, what do you say about us Christians that give gifts and believe that Jesus has nothing to do with the holiday?
Honestly, I don't know why an atheist WOULDN'T celebrate Christmas.

Do you mean athiests? Who says you need to be a Christian or believe in Santa Claus to give a gift? I like giving gifts to friends and loved ones and seeing them smile. I am not athiest, but nor am I Christian. That means I can't enjoy shopping for, or making that perfect gift for a loved one that will brighten their day? What's wrong with just being nice to others for no other reason?

Probably for the same reasons that I as a Jewish woman celebrates Christmas. It is a fun time to give loved ones gifts and spend time with family.
*I do believe in Jesus as the Savior (I'm Messianic), but I do not believe that his birthday was December 25, nor do I believe that Christmas is a religious holiday.

What is an athian? Also, what adult believes Santa is real? The same individuals that believe jesus is real? Oh well...I give gifts to loved ones in honor of the Pagan holiday that Christians stole from them.

If you mean atheists, we do it not for giving glory to the birth of Jesus but instead to have a good time , open presents, and have a nice dinner. Basically a little time with the people we love. It isn't about religion for us. And next time, please do not be so incredibly ignorant, we do not believe in Santa, 'Santa' is simply a symbol of Christmas and a funny little story we tell children. Please open your mind and do not waste people's time asking stupid questions.

I presume you mean atheists?
Whether chrisitians like it or not, in modern life to a lot of people the relevance of Christmas has nothing to do with the birth of Christ. It is a commerical holiday, which is imposed upon us. If one refuses to take part in the commercial side of Christmas it is generally frowned upon in the western world.
I would consider myself an atheist, although from a Catholic family. I personally refer to Christmas as Xmas as the religious aspect of the holiday is not important to me, but the family part is and I will always celebrate that.
Similar to Valentines day, people take part because it is what society expects.

wow, 1stly there is no such word as 'athians', secondly you should be ashamed for using 'santa' as a serious Christian reference. wow, for a bit of backstory, Christmas was originally mid-March until a few hundred years ago, maybe thousand actually. The holiday itself is a Pagan Solstace, and all the traditions are Pagan as well. So in fact Christmas trees and gift giving are Pagan traditions the Christians stole from them as they mass-exacuted them for not being 'the same'

Atheist don't believe in santa either. They just enjoy the holiday with no meaning. For Christians...it has meaning...and is a glorious time of year. God bless.
