Of course. The word atheist means (to me) a person who currently has no belief in a deity. Newborns have no beliefs of any kind, unless you count the 'belief' that they are hungry or need changing.

Children are born with a thirst for knowledge. Religion seems to be a contradiction so I guess they would have to be Atheist.

So something must have happened and still be happening in order for so many to have abandoned their ignorance and become believing...
Good point. I guess I do agree. Until children learn better, they are ignorant of the truth. That's why God has interacted with man throughout history.

Religious belief is taught to young kids . If this wasn't so , there would be a mixture of all religions in every community .This shows that childred pick up the religion of the parents.

Disagree, they born without knowledge, you need to have knowledge and know what beliefs are you rejecting to be considered an atheist, likewise you need to have some knowledge about what religious things you accept as real to be considered Christian.

I disagree. I think that children at birth don't have the mental capacity to understand God, and as such we can't really say that they're either atheists or theists. The terms simply don't apply to anybody who doesn't understand the concept of God.
For example, you wouldn't say that an ant is an atheist.

Disagree. Before anybody took me to church or taught me the name "God" I can remember pondering questions about what would be called spiritual matters, but lacked the vocabulary to ask what I wanted to know. Perhaps it would be more correct to say some people are born with much more of a natural interest in this than some other people.

when I think back on all the crap I learned in high school, it's a wonder I can think at all, but then my lack of education never hurt me much, I could read the writing on the wall.
Of course we are, we are born with all the knowledge of nothing, like a sponge. When man starts filling the sponge is when all hell breaks loose

Yes of course. If they grew up far away from anyone with now one to teach them religion they would not know anything about it. In order for a child to learn something, someone must teach them about it.
