Any thoughts? (I'm a Christian and I have 2 tattoos...both Christian related designs)

Same as I am -- Christian w/ 2 tattoos -- icthus fish on right shoulder, sword on left shoulder, pointed down, "Eph. 6:17" on the hilt. My (also Christian) wife has 3, and I'm jealous (lol).

No big deal -- I knew you were gonna have a couple Leviticus 19 answers, though. My grandma saw my first one the day after I took off the bandage, and she said (jokingly), "Well, guess I won't be seeing you in Heaven." I replied, just as jokingly, "That's OK, see you in Hell." You'd really have to know her and I to get that one, but suffice it to say that there were no hard feelings and we'll see each other in Heaven.

Have a great day!

i am a Christian and I have one tattoo. I got it before I started living for God though. I really don't know how to think about this. Some say it is bad and that we are disrespecting the temple of God...I don't think so....but I have thought about getting another one and then felt bad about it...so I don't know...(LoveCHrists daughter michelle age 33)

As long as it's tasteful and not bearing hateful messages, it's all cool.
I know, there's the argument that God made your body as a temple, but where does one draw the line at altering the looks of it?
I know Christians who have had boob jobs, ears pierced and hair dyed who won't get a tattoo because of the "body's a temple" thing.
To each their own, I think, as long as you're not hurting yourself or others.

If you are considering the question, "To tattoo or not to?" I think the more serious questions to ask yourself are: What are my motives for wanting a tattoo? Am I seeking to glorify God or draw attention to myself? Will my tattoo be a source of contention for my loved ones? Will getting a tattoo cause me to disobey my parents? Will my tattoo cause someone who is weak in the faith to stumble?

The bible says you should not get tattoos (Leviticus 19:28)

however we are imperfect and providing when we come to a realization of the truth we do not go and deliberately defy God and we sincerely ask for his forgiveness he will forgive us because God is Love

Not that I'm a Christian, but wouldn't God be offended if you 'damaged' His finest creation? It's just a thought.

According to the O.T. tattoos are a form of pagan ritual. God forbade it. I don't think that you bring glory to God if you get a tattoo after getting saved.

I have none. Whip out a permanent marker if you want pretty pictures on yourself. Atleast then it'll wash off in a few days.
