I am studying prophecy and I was wondering, some believe that Christ will come down at some point during or after the Tribulation to start the 1000 year reign on earth. During this time will people be as they are now: being born, growing up, getting married, having children and dying? Or will we be different? Transformed and immortal at this point. I am confused and was hoping someone could help me pull together the timeline a little better.

They are only immortal in the most broad sense. As we may be considered immortal: since the Bible says that either we will be alive with Him, or be sent to the other place.

There will still be sin in the world, as in: Man will still be a sinner.

A text to show that is this:

Zechariah 14
16 Then the survivors from all the nations that have attacked Jerusalem will go up year after year to worship the King, the LORD Almighty, and to celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles. 17 If any of the peoples of the earth do not go up to Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD Almighty, they will have no rain.

So being disobedient to God is still possible, as there may be those who elect to not go to Jerusalem as commanded. Also there is this text which tells us that there are still sinners on Earth during the thousand years:

Revelation 20
7 When the thousand years are over, Satan will be released from his prison 8and will go out to deceive the nations in the four corners of the earth—Gog and Magog—to gather them for battle. In number they are like the sand on the seashore.

If sin did not still reign in mortal bodies, Satan would be preaching to people who would withstand him. But that's not what happens. They join him to do this:

Revelation 20
9 They marched across the breadth of the earth and surrounded the camp of God's people, the city he loves.

So I hope that if this interpretation of of a literal Millennium is examined, sin will still be present according to the Bible.

Next; do they have children?
I suppose that it is possible for a sinner to live longer than what is thought to be normal today. After all, those sinners who lived pre flood were doing that. So is it possible that children are no longer produced - that people merely are capable of living throughout the period.

But this is a part of Isaiah that makes me think it will not be that way.

20 "Never again will there be in it
an infant who lives but a few days,
or an old man who does not live out his years;
he who dies at a hundred
will be thought a mere youth;
he who fails to reach a hundred
will be considered accursed.

21 They will build houses and dwell in them;
they will plant vineyards and eat their fruit.

22 No longer will they build houses and others live in them,
or plant and others eat.
For as the days of a tree,
so will be the days of my people;
my chosen ones will long enjoy
the works of their hands.

23 They will not toil in vain
or bear children doomed to misfortune;
for they will be a people blessed by the LORD,
they and their descendants with them.

Now the first verse in the subject makes it seem that there is a New Heaven and a New Earth, but after the Great Tribulation the Earth will be a mess! So as Hebrew to English is often needing understanding, so too this verse needs understanding:
17 "Behold, I will create
new heavens and a new earth.
The former things will not be remembered,
nor will they come to mind.
( Isaiah 65 )

I wonder about this because if it is describing eternity, then what are people dying for? As in verse 20! The rest of the Bible teaches that there won't be any death in eternity. That's stated in Revelation:

Revelation 21
4 "He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away."

So apparently Isaiah was not speaking of the New Heaven and New Earth of Revelation, he was talking about the Millennium that takes place before that. Isaiah saw the truth, but did not understand the distinction of the two periods.

So according to Isaiah, there will be people living and dying, there will be children born during the Millennium. That's what I get from it anyway! ( ;

EDIT: If you need more on this subject, I would be glad to contribute. I have a 360 blog, but I find that in depth subjects are better discussed on message boards. I go to this one:

The quick answer is both. There is a resurrection of the righteous at the beginning of the millennium. These people have transformed and immortal bodies. They will be servants in the kingdom.

But there are those that go on into the new millennium as normal humans. They will experience the benefits of many affects of the curse being reversed (they will live to old ages), but they will be in mortal bodies.

When the 1000 years is over there is a resurrection of all other people. The souls of all people, righteous and unrighteous, will be in new immortal bodies. Some will enter the new heaven and new earth, and others will be caste into the lake of fire.

Christians will be caught up in the rapture and will not be on earth. Only those who survive the tribulation will be here when Christ comes. If you get saved during the tribulation and live you will be mortal. Jesus will judge the nations. Those who were evil to Israel will be cast into outer darkness. Those saved and unsaved who are in nations that did good to Israel will live in Christ's Kingdom for 1000 years. They will have a chance to get saved before they die. These people will still be marrying, having children and dying. After the 1000 year reign, Satan will be loosed and deceive many to revolt against Christ and Christ will destroy the earth by fire. Then comes the Great White throne judgment where all those who are damned will be resurrected and cast into the lake of fire.

Rev 5:10 "And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth."
Today those that have excepted the "truth and the life" rule over this world.Satan is under their feet.We are reigning with Christ now. When He comes back those who are "left behind" will not have any more chances.Time will end when He returns.There will be no more measurements of time.A thousand years will not exist, only eternity.

777, I know that you mean well, I used to believe exactly as you do now.But I quote you here "the raptured saints" will be in this 1000 year reign. Rev 20:3 "And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season."
Do you really believe that God would loose the Devil on "the raptured saints"? The answer is no He is not.
Now here is where His saints are as we speak.
Rev 6:9 And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held:
Rev 6:10 And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?
Rev 6:11 And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellowservants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled.

777, 4 THE RECORD I DID NOT GIVE YOU THE THUMBS DOWN.

Christ does not come back till The 7th trumpet.

1Cr 15:52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

"the last trump", is the 7th. We don't meet HIM in these fleshly bodies for at the 7th trumpet we are changed/transfigured into Spiritual bodies. 1 Cor 15:35 then are two bodies celestial bodies(spiritual), and bodies terrestrial(fleshly). Flesh bodies cannot inherit the kingdom of GOD 1Cor 15:50. Why, its a different dimension.

Now if you are still in your fleshly body and some dude says they are Christ. He is a lier.

Mat 24:5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.

At the 7th trumpet then the millennium/1000 year period starts. Rev 20.

2 Ths 2 we don't gather back to Christ till "after" the great apostasy and Satan the son of perdition stands in the holy place pretending to be God. Which happens at the 6th trumpet, 6th vial, 6th seal. The true Christ comes at the 7th trumpet.

In the spiritual body we are all the same age. Yes we will know our families. Eze 44:25. Eze 40 to the end is all about the millennium.

During the 1000 years reign of Jesus all those who are resurrected will be taught the good news after that the devil will be let loose for a short while, then all those whose name is written in the book of life go on to the new Life everlasting. All those who stubbornly refuse will go on to everlasting destruction. Then the devil and his posse will be tossed into everlasting destruction along with death and hell too! That is good news! At the end of the thousand years Jesus will hand over the Kingdom to Jehovah. And the name of Jehovah will be Glorified forever.

This is a question many people have when studying the Bible. It is not clear what will exactly happen during the 1000 year reign. When you read prophetic portions of the Bible, such as Revelations, pray and ask God to give you an understanding of it. Sorry, I am not giving you a direct answer to your question. It's hard because there are many interpretations out there, and I'm not in the position to judge them. Just remember, tomorrow will worry about itself, and if your a true follower of Christ, there's no need to worry.

In my opinion, during the millenium, mortals will still continue to live on the earth and do Christ's work. Mortals will still have children and families. Death will NOT be the same but there will still be death.

I will be back with scriptural references in a minute.

My understanding is that believers who are alive at the time of Christ's coming will still live, marry and have children. Those believers who have died will have glorified bodies, won't die, and won't marry or bear children.

I'm confused about whether the live believers will live the entire thousand years.
