My English is so far so good. Means average in writing and speaking. But I’m really fried to use English. My mother tough is Malayalam. Other than Malayalam, I know Hindi, Kannada, Tamil, Urdu and Arabic. All these are not so fluent even though I’m using it, where it necessary. But in the case of English always looses confidence. What is the reason? How can I over come from this situation.

Ajit,

There is no shorty-cut way to improve your English, other than reading a lot.

You can subscribe "Indian Express" news paper instead of vernacular daily. It is also imperative that you read vernacular daily and then English daily. Most of the news items are quoted from same sources (like PTI), the sentence in all dailies will be more or less same. Say whatever is appearing in Manorama or Mathrubhumi will be reproduced in Indian express also.

Continuous reading of English daily will improve your English and you will slowly but surely start speaking flawless English. Even if you have a 1000 word power, you can use English language efficiently. The more word power you get, the better it is. Grammer etc will fall in place automatically. Try to learn at least five new words daily. Even if you remember only two of them, in a month's time, you can increase your word power by 60 words, which will be a great achievement. Over a period of time, you will be able to MASTER this language, no doubt on that.

Practice speaking in front of the mirror to get more comfortable with your body and words when speaking. It helps me a lot when having to give a speech or presentation.
You probably are self-concious when speaking in English because you may talk slower than other fluent speakers; there is also the worry of speaking correctly.
I felt the same way when in France last summer. I can speak French, but it isn't fluent yet, so I felt a little self-concious. But it's normal and with more practice, you'll get over it.
