I believe the church has actually said that tattoos are OK.

But if they havn't:

Colossians 2:16 "Therefore let no man judge you in meat..."

Romans 3:28 "For we observe that a man is justified by faith apart from observing the law"

You can try and justify getting a tattoo with a bible quote, or you can know that you're going to be judged in front of those pearly gates, and it's likely a tattoo will be at the bottom of the list of things you've done wrong :)

I'm a catholic and I have tattoos and know MANY catholics that have them. I have never heard any "official" word on how the bible or how catholicism views tattoos.

I've only heard evangelicals say that tattoos were a sin.

NOT AT ALL !!!! The ones who say so are just making up stuff. It's not a sin, you're not harming anyone and, as far as I know, there's no commandment that says "thou shalt not have tatoos"

I've never heard anything about Christianity or Catholicism being anti-tattoo, I've only heard that for Judaism.

Catholics will preach about everything being a sin.

That's why I pay no mind to ANY religion.

If you want a tat, get one. Who cares what anyone else thinks? It's your body, do what YOU want.
