Christmas. Boo!

2007-12-04 03:31:26 · answer #1 · answered by Anonymous · 1 1

Yea, when I go down to CVS to buy some Christmas cookies, they are labeled holiday cookies.
I get ads in my inbox for 70% off this holiday season.
Really, the holiday we will be buying presents for each other is Christmas.
Everytime I turn on NBC, every Christmas, they have everybody say happy holidays.
The pc thought police don't want to offend non-christians so its not right to go up to strangers and say Merry Christmas.
Every year at the annual "holiday" event, at H.I.P, its called holiday even though they have a christmas tree and give out presents.
I have had it up to here with the pc thought police.
Give me a beer and I will wish everyone a happy Christmas.

Sure, I can say it, I can even spell it!

Happy Christmas to you! :)

Edit: But I have no problem with "Happy Holidays" either. Nice to see someone would respond to that with "F Off". Gee, thanks!

Many other cultures have different holidays around this time of year and I have no problem including them in well wishes. I myself am not Christian. I don't celebrate Christmas - I celebrate Winter Solstice (Yule), but I have Christian friends so I respect their holidays as well and wish them good ones. However someone wants to wish me happiness during the holiday season is fine with me, and I wish them the same. I think people need to stop being so dang picky and/or offended over what is the proper thing to say and just wish each other well....period. Peace on Earth, goodwill...sound familiar? That's what I believe we are supposed to promote during this holiday season (though I think it should be all the time, not just at the holidays and it doesn't matter what religion one is.) There are bigger things to argue about in this world other than how someone wishes another a good holiday.

Yes. I can say Christmas.

The modern English word Christmas comes from the Old English Christes Maesse (Christ Mass), the name of the service of Holy Communion that commemorates Christ's birth.

Christmas but technically I am typing this and you would have no idea whether I am actually capable saying it.

Actually X-Mas comed from a Greek shortening of Christ's name. In English it would be C-Mas.

Merry Christmas, all.
If you don't celebrate Christmas, please don't take offense, for none was intended. If you celebrate Christmas for Santa, presents, family, lights, etc. that doesn't bother me one iota. Enjoy! For those who celebrate any other holiday this month [or none], my warmest wishes for a grand time!!
