Do you mean leaving it on the stove to cook while you're gone? It depends on what type of meat it is and what your doing with it. It is usually not a good idea to leave something on the stove with nobody to watch it, especially if you're going to be gone for another three hours. I'd be wary about it, you don't want to come back and find your house has burned down, not to mention you could end up overcooking the meat.

Sorry, i'm with your spouse. warm nutrition could desire to be stored warm ... which skill, in case you may no longer or do no longer choose to refrigerate it, flow it to a save-heat oven (a minimum of a hundred and eighty levels) or a sluggish cooker set to "heat". It won't prepare dinner added, in spite of the undeniable fact that it won't be extra useful for the better hours of warming! Or refrigerate it and positioned across it lower back as much as a stable simmer day after immediately. Leaving a nutrition to relax with out refrigeration is only soliciting for nutrition poisoning. even even with the indisputable fact that the stew could be piping warm whilst faraway from the warmth, the interior temperature will plummet to risky stages interior 2 hours ... after that quantity of time, that's now no longer risk-free to consume.

You could, but unless you have enough liquid in the pan, it will boil dry. A slow cooker may be a good investment for you, because you can leave your meat cooking all day. I use a pressure cooker for stewing meat. It cooks in about 25 minutes.

It’s never a good idea to leave food cooking unattended on the stovetop. I’d move it over to a oven-safe pot, cover it and leave at 300. That will be just fine unattended for 3hours.

oven or slow cooker would be safer than stove top. It's more the danger of starting a fire while not there then any food issue.

Put it on low but make sure it has plenty of fluid. Invest in a slow cooker. Safer and cheaper.
