Bukhari is the most authentic Hadiths. So you should trust Bukari. It was the custom back then for infant girls to be married off to men they didn't know by their father and when they became of age(when they got their period which could have been from 9-11) they were married off. Aisha was not married off to Muhammad(PBUH*) until the age of 9. She was bethrothed to him @ the age of 6. Bethrothed is like engaged in the modern world. But Muhammad(PBUH*) didn't consummate the marriage with her until she had gotten her first period which was probably in her early teens. Even today in African cultures infant girls are married off to men who will be in their 40s or older when they marry. So the practice hasn't compeletly died off. Now Aisha chose to marry Muhammad(PBUH*) of her own free will. She was very mature and intelligent for her age and is responsible for recording many of the Hadiths of Muhammad(PBUH*). She was not forced into the marriage. Muhammad(PBUH*) married her because God told him to do so. He saw her in a dream. It was even custom in the USA 50 years ago for men in their 20s and older to marry women as young as 11! It was only 40 years ago that the USA banned this practice and refuses to see girls as adults as soon as they get their first period and boys as adults as soon as they turn 14. In Islam girls are adults as soon as they get their first period because their bodies are able to bear children and give birth. Boys are adults at 14 because they are able to get women pregnant. There are current countries and cultures today that allow children as young as 9 to get married like Iran as long as they both consent to the marriage. If God didn't want women to start having babies and getting married at 12 years old then he wouldn't let the girls get their period from 9-11.

i donno how old she was but anyway Muslims can marry when they've reached their puberty age and can produce a baby.a marriage is only valid if both the bride and groom want it.so no1 can be forced 2 marry cuz such a marriage is not valid.some times he married cuz god told him 2 just 2 show muslims certain marriages were allowed.Mohammad's daughter married Ali when she was 9.i guess arab girls reach puberty early it different in different parts of the world.u c if people marry when they start 2 have sexual desires they wouldn't sin as much as they do nowadays

BTW, consummation of marriage does not really mean that they had sex. Before she was not 9 year they were not staying together. She was staying in her fathers house and at the age of 9 years she came to Prophet's house.

because that was how it was done back then. Like how joseph got married to marry when she was 12 or 13. But its not like they had sex with them at that age. They were good men, they did as they were suppose to, and waited until they were ready for sexual intercourse. Dont b implying no foolishness.
