I was sitting on a flight back to Phoenix from Seattle last night. There were only 50/170 seats booked, so there were quite a few open seats. I was trying to sleep on the flight and I was the only person within rows 23 - 27. I woke up when I heard a weird rustling when we were already in the air about halfway to Phoenix...It was an older man that had moved to the aisle seat of the row, across from me.
I kinda just shrugged it off and attempted to fall asleep again, and he somehow ended up in the aisle seat of my same row, so we had the middle seat between us. He grabbed me inappropriately, and it woke me up. I got mad and told him to go away, and not to touch me again. However, he didn't listen, so I tried to push past him. He wouldn't let me go past. I was afraid so I pushed the Flight Attendant call button. She came over and I told her I wanted to move. She told me I could move wherever I wanted to and walked away... I attempted pass the guy again and he held me back again...

So I slapped him. Hard. Then I just pushed past him and moved up to the front of the aircraft and sat up there.
I don't know, I mean.. this made me very comfortable. I don't know how to go about reporting it, or even what I would say, or who the guy was, but I'm definitely not flying this airline again. I've already had several problems with them.
Any advice?

I did tell the flight attendant what had happened, and I was told to switch seats. There were plenty of seats open, and we were the only ones within those rows at the time. I just moved up to row 10 and sat next to someone so he wouldn't follow. Nobody saw anything, but I'm sure they heard me slap him. I didn't report it to the police because I don't know the guy and talking to the flight attendant didn't exactly accomplish anything.

What airline was this? I find it ridiculous that if you told the flight attendant what really happened, she did not even write it up. That's crazy. You should contact the airline and report it. Give them the date and flight number. Perhaps they can find out who the old man was through the flight manifest. In any case, the flight attendants should have done more for you. They should have told the man that his actions where not appropriate and if he did not stop that they'd have to restrain him.
I know that when I was in flight attendant training, we where told that when things like this happen, you have to notify the flight deck, write a report, and keep an eye on the situation. But not just tell one passenger to "move wherever" they'd like. How awful... I would not fly them again. But I am curious... which airline was this?
US Airways... of course. Worst airline in my opinion. Simply the worst. Contact the airline and report it... give them a flight number and date. They will be able to track down who was responsible on that flight and hopefully be able to place part of the blame where it is due. What an unprofessional lot.

First of all, sorry to hear that this has happened to you. Second, why didn't you just tell the flight attendant about him touching you and then not letting you pass him. Glad to hear that you did get away from him. I think you should call the airline and see if you could talk to some sort of manager and explain what happened. Hope things work out for you. Take care.

I'd have raised bloody hell, everyone on the plane would have known what that freak was up to, believe me. I'd have demanded the captain contact authorities in Seattle to have the man charged with sexual assualt the moment we'd landed.
You don't say that you told the stewardess what had happened. If you did and she told you to move seats I'd have demanded to speak with the captain or someone else in charge. I would not have simply moved.
At this point I would still call the authorities and explain what happened. You may still have recourse. They have passenger lists, you can track this creep down. Like I said call the police, they will give you the best advise.

You should have said something to the flight attendant at that time. Did anyone else witness this occurance? If not, you may be out of luck by now. You could always still try calling the airline and asking them. An attorney may also be able to help you.

in line with an editorial that I learn final yr, sure you might unfastened awareness while the airplane is over 18,000 toes. According to the thing you might black out at 30K toes plus and might be subconscious till you hit round 10 to 12K toes above the bottom wherein you must truthfully gradual down a little bit because of the thickening surroundings (just a little despite the fact that) when you consider that your frame hurries up till it hits terminal speed of someplace round approximately 124 mph or 200kph. Once at this velocity you'll benefit from the view for a couple of mins till you hit the bottom had been you are going to have a 50 50 risk of surviving. There was once a case a couple of years in the past in south America wherein a individual rode the seat she was once strapped into the entire approach to the bottom a survived with simply bruises and scratches when you consider that the bottom was once tender and the seat she was once strapped into brought on bigger wind resistance and bogged down her terminal speed. NEVER head for water as drinks do not easily compress and it might be like hitting concrete in those instances head for marshy places.

Why did you just tell the FA you wanted to move, and not what had just occurred? What did the airport police say? Or the purser, head flight attendant, pilots, or other crew? Did you consider it important enough to tell someone else in authority during or immediately after the flight? What have your local police advised you to do?

It's way too late to do anything now.
If it happens again, first thing is scream like bloody murder, "GET YOUR HANDS OFF OF ME!" Loud enough for them to hear it in the cockpit.
That will get plenty of attention.
